Harbaugh in his press conference with the media on Wednesday talked about the Cowboys comeback win against the Niners in their last game...

Harbaugh called that game, “a deep bruise.”

“It took a while for that one to go away, but great respect for Tony Romo and what he’s accomplished through the body of his work through his career. What he did on that day, we all saw him leave the game and come back and engineer a fourth-quarter comeback. It was impressive."

He continues...

"I knew he was great. I’ve always thought that of Tony Romo. But he climbed another rung on my ladder of esteem, and I didn’t think he had anymore rungs to go after what I’d seen, but he definitely gained another one that day.”

On Wednesday, Kaepernick called Romo a “great quarterback” and a “playmaker.”

“He’s always going to keep the offense and his team in the game,” he told reporters. “Have the ability to put up a lot of points, so we have to be ready for that.”

I get that they are posturing and aren't going to stir the pot, but I also think Harbaugh's a straight shooter and truly believes what he says.

I've never heard anyone who actually played the position in the NFL speak of Romo with anything but glowing respect.

Let's be honest, if opposing coaches treated Romo with the same disdain some fans and the media do, they'd be carved up by the Cowboys offense each week.

I would love for him to get canned by the 49ers after this season and become available. I would make him the highest paid coach in the NFL and give him as much autonomy as he wanted.

He has got that qualities that some people pretend Garrett has as a head coach.

On quite on topic, but what if I was for some strange reason was the Cowboy's owner and Jim Harbaugh was available?

I'd sign him find a compatible GM to work with him...Pioli would be on my short list.

Then I'd get outta the way!!!

Back to topic, the best scenario with Romo is Jim Harbaugh as his coach - both for his QB knowledge/experience and lighting fires. And wish Romo was at least five years younger.

Harbaugh had rated Romo as a 2nd rounder. Hes thought highly of him for awhile.

I'm a Romo supporter but noway was he a 2nd rounder when he came out. 3rd round at best and more like 4-5th rounder. He would tell you himself that he needed time to develop when he was a rookie. I think with a help from David Lee (QB coach at the time) and hard work, he made himself into the QB he is now.

Harbaugh had just started his coaching career as an assistant in Oakland when Romo was draft eligible. I'm assuming he means he had Romo as a 2nd rounder in fantasy football. Really depends on how your league's scoring system works.

I like the fire in Harbaugh and he would do well in Dallas as the HC if he was given the right ability to make decisions...this would never happen, but I could see Garrett bumped up to GM or some other title that makes JJ comfortable and then bring in harbaugh to coach...JJ saves face (what little hasn't been stretched) by keeping his prodigy in the organization and still keeps the team moving in the right direction

again, none of this will happen
