Hard Knocks rewatch

Oh lord episode 2 has the Willie Shart Blade incident
I think they all had digestive issues from the San Antonio food or something. In the first episode, Coslet was yelling for a WR substitute and gets the response that he's in the bathroom.

I remember some iconic moments.

Dwayne Goodrich's mother telling him how proud she was of him. A few years later he was arrested for killing someone on the side of the highway and leaving without reporting it.

The offensive coaches discussing how this was the best WR squad they ever had. They were pathetic.

Campo in a wetsuit while visiting Seaworld.

I don't remember anything that makes me think Hard Knocks is a good idea for the team.

And they were really, really high on Tyson Walter.

Randal Williams, Tyson Walter, Pete Hunter, Richmond Flowers and of course, the immortal Brandon Noble.

How we lost eleven games with this kind of talent, I will never know.
Richmond Flowers singing with a guitar was the low point in Cowboys training camp history.

Yes. They share a birth date and there's a good chance they could have two franchise QBs with Hutchinson.

Bruce Coslet says this is the best WR group he's ever had with Galloway, Rocket, a rookie Antonio Bryant and a collection of crap.

I believe those WRs(healthy) are a pretty good group. The bigger problems were at QB, OL and a play-caller stuck in the 1970s.

That team probably had less than 15 legitimate NFL level players on the entire roster.

One of the reason why Jerry is loved by his players is his ability to relate to his players. Like Michael Irvin said around the time of Jerry's HOF introduction ceremony, "He might be a billionaire but he's one of us!" I totally get why he said that. He's comfortable around common folks. What other billionaire owner would get out and party with the common folks like he did on Bourbon Street?

I was touched by his concern over a player who busted his kneecap again. I forgot his name already. But that was sincere. I wonder what happened to that kid, does anyone know?

Frank Verducci.

Probably the best OL coach we've ever had here.

Remember how Pete Hunter basically sabotaged his own career by demanding to play corner instead of safety where he was actually good at?

No, I don't. I kind of deleted the whole scrub ruining his own career thing.

In the end it was still a bend dont break defense that went nowhere and weve had too many of those since then. Ill pass.

Didn't say it was great, just that I'd take it over almost any of the defenses we had during the Romo and Prescott eras.

Had to look up that roster....Man was that bad.....And your right...I have about 14 guys I would have held on to....the rest were trash. Hard to believe Jerry thought that could be a competitive football team. A lot of older guys riding off into the sunset....like Emmitt and Woodson. Hard to be competitive when half your squad is practice squad quality.

Can't wait until the new Zeke look. Pat McQuistan still making an impact...you will never get more impact out of a 7th round pick..EVER.;)

iu

I'm having Goonies flashbacks!!!
