Hard Pills to swallow as Cowboys fans

I, like many of you, love the Cowboys. This is the team that I've pulled for since I was 6, and I always plan to do so. However, every fanbase comes to that moment where they need to understand certain truths. In other words, there are hard pills to swallow as fans. Here are some hard pills to swallow as Cowboys fans. I think the sooner we understand these and take these pills, the sooner we can understand the reality of our situation. Then, the sooner as fans we can do something about it.

  1. Quitting on the team and not filling seats won't fix Jerry. For those of you who think that not going to games will take money away from Jerry, that's not how it works. Most of the seats are sold to corporate, and those that aren't bought by our fans will go to other fans. That's why there were seemingly more Lions fans than Cowboys fans on Sunday. It may seem like a slap to Jerry, but he's getting paid regardless.
  2. We are a soft team because we are a soft fan base. Do you think, as I tried to point out in a thread earlier this week, that our division rivals would be allowed to quit mid game like our team did? Of course not! The other teams, even if they're not good like the Giants, at least give their all. Why? Because you can't quit in Philly, New York, Buffalo, or Boston. Their fans will never let you hear the end of it. Instead, the team in Dallas is soft because we are more willing to quit on them and let them do what they do. What we should be doing is going to the games and getting as ruthless to them as our rivals would be to their teams if they give the effort the Cowboys have at home in 2024. Dak said he wanted the vibes, let's give them the vibes we feel about them. If we can rattle the players, there's a chance it rattles Jerry.
  3. We are not America's Team anymore. Nobody outside of the Dallas Cowboys fan base or organisation actually thinks that anymore. And that's okay! It puts an unnecessarily large target on our backs. I know where it comes from, but it doesn't change the fact that nobody actually sees is as that. We need to actually win to re-earn that nickname if we want it back.
  4. The Dallas Media is soft, bought, and paid for by Jerry. You saw in the way Jerry treated "The Fan" how he was quick to point out that he can replace them. He tripled down on it recently. Part of the reason he's allowed to exist in his world instead of of reality is because he's surrounded by an echo chamber that only tells him what he wants to hear.
  5. Part of the reason we fans are disliked is because some of us think year in year out it's our year. It's not! We are not always going to be contenders. Especially not with the inactive offseason we had. The fact things are going badly for the team should be the least surprising thing this season. Maybe, if we fans can be more honest about our team and realise that we are nowhere near a championship as some might think, then, we can approach things with clarity.
  6. Jerry can't handle true criticism, and it showed in his recent media interviews. This isn't exactly a hard pill, but it's a pill that is surprising. However, this is the best pill of the 5. Jerry is desperate. He can tell that we aren't happy. In his desperation, he showed his true colours. He's a narcissist who can't handle criticism. We, as fans, can use this.
When you take these 6 pills, you actually realise that there's something as fans we can do about our situation, and it needs to start in Dallas as many of us are outside of Texas. Jerry showed he can't handle criticism, especially when he's desperate. What we need is to flood Dallas media with our frustrations. At games, we need to be as loud as possible. I'm talking "Jerry sucks" chants, billboards to troll Jerry, signs at the stadium, the works. There are more of us than there are of Jerry and his boys. They can't ban all of us. The reality of the situation is that, we are 3-3 and have a brutal schedule ahead. If we miss the playoffs, it's on Jerry for his offseason inactivity. However, as fans, we can demand more, and it's time we take a leaf from our rivals and learn how to actually show true passion about the team. Not the deluded idea that everything will work out and we will win the SB. That won't happen anytime soon. When we look at the reality of our situation, we can approach things with honesty and clarity. In so doing, we can actually approach the games by holding our team accountable more. We can tell the media what we honestly think about our teams.

In other words, we can give Jerry an honest offer.

None of these suggestions hit Jerry in the pocketbook. Opinions and pom-poms do not move Billionaires.

Nothing we do will hit him there. even if we all stop watching or what have you, there are enough opponents and haters of ours that will more than make up for that. He showed he's sensitive to criticism, so maybe there's something we can use there.

And this needed a thread?

Many Cowboys fans like myself have known all if this for a couple of decades and been shouted down by Jerry and Garret and Dak apologists

So, go on, make these threads but look in the mirror first

The fact that it gets shouted down makes this thread necessary imo. It's quite revealing those who don't want to believe the truth.

I bet Jerry has already been told by Stephen to put a sock in his pie hole, but that will never silence Jerry.

Jerry could probably care less about the fan base, but the media is definitely beginning to agitate him a bit.

Right, and if we can start to agitate the way Eagles fans annoy their media, who knows? And the players might care about the fanbase if we start getting to them. We can't get at Jerry directly, but maybe we can indirectly.

If the fans stop showing up and turning the channel across the nation, he will know.
But I think it's too late to turn it back.
Long time fans like myself who have watched the Cowboys since the 60's and 70's are fed up. The younger fans haven't seen what this franchise once was or what it stood for.
I think those days are gone forever.
Jerry kicked us in the teeth; first with 13 years of Garrett, then 9 years of Dak.
It sunk in.

As a younger fan, yes, I am aware that I haven't seen what you've seen in our high times. But, I'm hopeful we will get some success at some point. I think it starts with our fanbase reevaluating our expectations and the reality of our situation.
