Does anyone know if there have been any follow up questions to the entire "he's in training" statement? Has anyone heard any questions by the media to either JJ or Red about this? If not, why not? Also, if not, what do you think Jason's answer would be if he were asked about it? What would your answer be?

I would love for someone to have the stones to say something like....

"Jason, I know Jerry has said this was a training period for you as head coach. When this training is completed, do you think there will be any changes in how you run the team?"

But the Dallas area media doesnt have what it takes to put the head coach on the spot.

Nope, the Dallas media doesnt have the balls to ask about that.

Serious question for anyone ... how would, say the New York media, treat an owner like Jerry Jones? Wonder if they (or any other media heavy city) treat him differently.

The media isn't smart enough to phrase it that way. Phrased that way it's a thoughtful question. The media just wants to troll, and they would get the Garrett stonewall answer.

Why ask that? Seriously. Neither of them answer questions we already know the answer to. That would be a huge waste of a question, while they may get "cool" points from fans its just not worth it.

The New York media would eat Jerry and his trainee for breakfast.....................half of the Dallas media is buddies with Garrett, so almost nobody every says anything negative about him.

I think the opposite. Yes, the NY media is rough but Dallas has the nation's media over them daily. The NY media doesn't seem to affect the Mets or Knicks much. I don't see how much more press they can get no matter what city the Cowboys reside in.

Jerry likes the pain so he would feel right at home :(

I was not aware Steve Dennis asked Garrett about him being a "trainee".................what was Garrett's response?

I sorry, I meant maybe Steve Dennis would ask that kind of question...I would love to see the look on Garrett's face if it is ever put to him...

I will tell you this...They wouldnt accept non-answers or Jerry using these run-on sentences to try to talk around a question. I heard Joe Torre get absolutely killed for about 20 minutes on radio when he decided to choose 7 yankees as reserves for an all star game. And you cant find a nicer guy than Torre.

Here is part one of the interview I spoke of. If you have 10 minutes, its a classic. Quality isnt great but you can hear everything. I listened to this live as I was driving around and I was a little uncomfortable. lol

So anyway....this is what the NY media can be like.

He'd just say "Oh, I don't think NFL coaches ever feel like they're done learning..." without missing a beat. Wouldn't even be a speed bump. The training comment is just fodder for message board threads. It's not actually meaningful.

Oh Its meaningful, suppose the 49ers owner had said that about Jim Harbaugh how would he be viewed by his players. This aint tha Jaguars and nor should it be treated as such.

No one is going to ask these tough questions...the Dallas media wants quotes, comments, ANY nonsense from Jones, who seemingly will give them an endless supply as long as they feed his ego...they can draw their own conclusions from the nonsense that he spews...so, they aren't going to jeopardize their media cash-cow in any way....JJ is king of the hill and no one wants to storm the hill to knock him down

Dude that was rough!

LOL He is the same host that had the GM of the NY Rangers on one day and his very first question to the GM was......"How is it possible that you still have your job?"
haha. Much better dialogue than a Dallas reporter asking....."Jason can you talk about what it means to have Sean Lee back in the lineup?"

Not a peep. And it needs to be asked.

As much as people love to believe the evil media has it out for Jones, this question would have been asked a hundred times in New York for example. You just do not come out and say your head coach is in training. I suppose the free Papa John's pizza at the press conferences is doing the trick.

I'm afraid the Dallas media just doesnt have it in them to ask such questions. I know Dallas is a good size market and I'm sure they have some great media people. But I think in a place like Dallas, reporters are naturally more laid back, more polite and they just go with the flow.

Heck in NY, there are people calling for Tom Coughlin's head and they wanna replace Eli Manning. And these 2 guys have won 2 Super Bowls in what? The last 7 years or so?
