Has anyone heard any news on Amobi Okoye? Sure could use help with Melton hurt, no?

Totally forgot about him. Would be nice for him to spell melton. And if jerry is being honest. Spencer and mcclain being back next week could be yuge

he's either on PUP or the Non-football injury list so at minimum he misses 8 weeks i believe....someone can correct me if i'm wrong on that timetable

He is on the NFI list and can't practice for the 1st six weeks at a minimum.

A player on NFI can come back as early as week 7 and as late as week 14.

We have Amobi Okoye? So this season we can get Josh Brent and Amobi Okoye in the middle of this defense?

Both are eligible to start practicing in week 7 if the Cowboys decided to do it.

I would have a hard time cutting another player for guys that have not played in a long time. It's not going to be an easy decision to activate them, IMO.

I would look forward to seeing both of them in training camp next year. Josh Brent is 26 and Okoye is 27.

We're also getting Lawrence back around that same time right? Seems like this could really work out for us depending on how well they're coming along. I've just been looking around for updates on Okoye but haven't seen anything.

Earliest return dates:

Okoye: week 7
Lawrence: week 9
Josh Brent: week 11

Darn, I was hoping this thread was about THE NIGERIAN NIGHTMARE. Aka, the greatest RB in Tecmo Bowl History!

I can see Okoye getting moved to the IR, if he's not needed due to injuries or just terrible play by someone. Let him compete for next year.
Brent, though suspended, doesn't he also need to apply for reinstated, to unretire? Has he done this yet, or was that part of the suspension deal. If he can't play until week 11, same deal, wait until next year.

I feel both would be much better by waiting until next year for various reasons.

After reading his story, i don't think there's a chance he plays a down this season. They will continue to monitor and take his return very slowly and cautiously. I expect a move to the IR within the next month.
