I was curious what they would say and basically its what CATCH has been saying, that Garrett said nothing has changed with Romo's role and Jerry says Romo is now basically the OC.
So its not some made up conspiracy here at the Zone, it was on the freaking teaser lead in on Sportcenter 30 seconds after the NBA playoff game ended. Some of you guys owe CATCH an apology for saying he misinterpreted the article and he is just trying to stir things up, ect......
I flipped the channel to ESPN 2 and NFL Live was on and they were talking about the contradiction between Jerry and Garrett. Jason Taylor said this whole thing makes Garrett look week infront of the team.

Example: Yes we love player X and we like what he brings to the team.
Dude gets cut the following week..
Chocolate Lab;5084534 said:Yes, I did notice that. When Jerry gave his Sirius/XM interview a couple days ago he stressed that all this Romo involvement in gameplanning and playcalling was a new development. Then Garrett comes out and says nothing is really changing. He doesn't want to admit anything might be different, much like when the change in playcaller was the topic after the season.
Very defensive. But that's really how he's always been.
And oh by the way, it has nothing to do with any "mediot" saying that. It's an observation anyone can see if they pay attention.
ninja;5084574 said:Anyone who watched the past draft war room saw who was in charge and making the decisions. That would be Jerry Jones. Garrett didn't do jack squat except talk to JJ's daughter a good deal of the time.
khiladi;5085336 said:Just like Jason Garrett said he never minded not calling the plays... JG is in more spin control than anybody else. I, for one, am glad that JG is getting demoted.
Doomsday101;5085342 said:How is he getting demoted? Did Sean Payton get demoted in NO? after all Brees is very active with the offensive staff in putting together the game plan.
Garrett has said Romo has been involved if now he will be even more involved great as long as it helps this team win. You guys are about a petty as can be.
Slamman;5085348 said:It's a demotion in the sense that Romo will have more power to control the offense, tempo, and call his own plays. Traditionally, JG would call 2 plays and Romo would have the ability to "kill" the original playcall (at least until the team went no huddle). Now, it seems that Romo will have more say. I really think this helps the offense quite a bit. Honestly, JG was never good at playcalling. And, he seemed to always get in the plays late. I honestly have more trust in Romo to call plays to exploit a defense because we've seen him do it in the no huddle.
