Has Connor Williams improved?

Being likely that Williams starts, is there any indication that he has gotten stronger or improved from the first meeting? I would think there has to be some level of improvement from switching Oline coaches and techniques alone.

Not much. He gets manhandled by big, powerful DT's. He needs a year in the weight room to build core and leg strength to play guard. He just might be a better tackle but, the Cowboy FO
has a big problem evaluating their players.

Nobody really knows other than maybe Connor himself at this point, but if there was ever a time to answer that question, it would be today.

They did make the wrong choice with B Jones but I think it's more of the promise JJ made to Collins that has the two out of position. Collins is a G and Williams only chance to stick IMO is at RT.

There’s a sweeping group think going on that Connor Williams was bad when he started...he wasn’t. He wasn’t necessarily good either, but people saw him get pushed back a handful of times and it sticks in people’s minds ignoring that he was solid most of the time.

People also convientieny ignore that Sua’Filo has been killing the team in pass protection. He’s let up 6 sacks and over 10 pressures in less than 8 games...that’s pretty horrible.

The trade off with Williams is that while he may get over powered at times he’s more athletic and won’t get burned by speed rushers and he pulls so much better than Filo, who also gets over powered sometimes himself...

^Lets be positive today. CWill has quicker feet, so pulling and screens should have that extra blocker that get to and make a block in space. Actually, counters n screens may be a effective part of playcalling today.

Remember LG was trash before n after Ron Leary? This FO group hasn't learned yet. This offense runs better w/ a big physical Mauler at LG...facts. (ref. XSF/Ron)

Scouting: DAL drafts a 295lb LT to play LG... knowing they need a guy at least around 310.

Fix: 1 yr left on LC' deal, move him to LG this off-season. Move CWill to RT. Draft a OT high.

Exactly. Group think is correct. Power can give him some problems but overall, he wasn’t bad. Wasn’t great either but he will improve as time goes on.

Moving from Alexander to Colombo should help him like everyone else too.

He's the one thing that worries me today. (Throw up the) X. Sua-Filo really stabilized the line when he got in there. Wish he and Looney could get bonuses at the end of the year for not allowing the line to become complete bedlam. Williams was a contributor to that early but hopefully he's learned a thing or two.

Amen to staying positive today.

All bets are off if we lose.

Until then, let's stay positive. We're in the playoffs, and that's rare these days for Dallas fans.

Connor Williams needs to hit the slop house and beef up....he has great football technique but he is wayyyyy to small and not strong enough

That's because he's a tackle with a tackle's body trying to play a guard position. He's just not big or strong enough for the position at this point.
