Has Dante Fowler Disappeared? What Happened to Takk McKinley?

Not sure what happened to Dante Fowler, but he seems to have disappeared as of late. I can't recall seeing him in on many, if any, plays recently.

Also, what happened to Takk McKinley? I thought he was one of DQ's boys and hasn't really made any impact on the team just yet. Is he even active?

Where has Sam Williams been? I can't understand why he hasn't seen more playing time, like at LB or DE... when we needed the help with LVE out.

I also can't wait for LVE to come back.. Eagles are talking trash over at their board, saying they will beat us "comfortably" with Hurts... But Minshew played better than Hurts has ever played vs. the Cowboys. So I don't see it.

I just want our defense to be at full health. I know we're not getting Anthony Brown back, which hurts, imo. But I think we can make due with Bland and Wright, especially if our defensive line guys step it up.

Agreed. It would also help if our DTs showed up more consistently during the playoffs. When is the last time our DTs have been called for making a play? It's been quite some time. Our Defense definitely needs some run stopping and passing pressure up the middle if we expect to win some playoff games.

Instead of wearing Parsons out, they need to put him back at LB. And get back to the rotation of fresh guys that was working so well for us early on. Now, it seems like they're sitting our rotational ends and playing Parsons and Tank the vast majority of stats.

I think that's why our pass rush seems to have fallen off. I cannot understand the logic behind this.

It’s not just Fowler it’s the whole front 7. Parsons has had 1 sack in the last 5 games. Sam Williams gets spot plays. Armstrong hasn’t had a sack in the last 5 games. The DTs are getting next to no production. The great Tank Lawrence hasn’t had a sack in 6 games and is giving you his typical post contract garbage production. Quinn has been awful. It’s remarkable how this defense has just tanked.

Quinn cut McKinley 3 1/2 years into his rookie contract for repeatedly complaining about playing the 5tech DE amongst other things involving his role, but he’s “one of his boys”? McKinley was brought in as insurance for if Lawrence had to have surgery on his foot again. Not sure why anyone would have ever expected to see him otherwise. Fowler had one of the 2 sacks vs the Titans!

Again, our pass rush was great because we rotated fresh talent. And we're not doing that anymore. I cannot understand why unless everyone is banged up.

Take a break Cowboys fans. Quinn’s defense is the reason why the Cowboys stayed afloat after Dak’s injury. The injuries to our secondary, Parsons, Armstrong, and DLaw has hurt us since the Packers game. Even though some of the injured players are still playing in the games it has slowed down our pass rush. No excuse but sometimes there are other reasons besides the coaches and players suck.

I was just about to bring that up .until it was posted,.. about Fowler's sack in this past game.

Every since Armstrong was injured, i haven't seen him as much in the backfield. as first half of the season.

I wasn't in awe with the Takk McKinley addition.
Its a reason why he's been a journeyman type at this point. i thought being connected with Quinn, and being a past draftee intrigue with he Cowboys was
why he was brought on.

But it's also a reason why he's remained on the practice squad.

The biggest issue is the DTs and Lawrence. They are getting zero push from the middle and Lawrence has been a ghost. I have rewound a bunch of plays to just watch him. Many times it looks like he isn’t even trying. Of course the rumors are he is hurt again. If he is he should not be on the field.

Through week 10, Parsons averaged 57 snaps a game (9 games). Since then (7 games) he's averaged 51 snaps a game.

So, Micah has been playing less, not more.

This! If we were better at DT, the whole D would be better. IMHO, Gallimore and Big Bo have both fallen off, Odiggy is undersized, and Hankins is missing.

I think he committed to stopping the run a month or so ago and ever since this pass rush has fallen off a cliff.

This is a big contributor to the pass rush struggling. Teams know the Cowboys can bring it so every pass is coming out after short QB drops. Add in our bad run defense and adjusting the DL play to overcompensate for that and suddenly the front 7 looks very average.

Dante Fowler the poor man's Roquan Smith. Jerry was too cheap to bring in Smith who would have single handidly solidified the run stopping. This is what happens when you go cheap.
