It’s not just Fowler it’s the whole front 7. Parsons has had 1 sack in the last 5 games. Sam Williams gets spot plays. Armstrong hasn’t had a sack in the last 5 games. The DTs are getting next to no production. The great Tank Lawrence hasn’t had a sack in 6 games and is giving you his typical post contract garbage production. Quinn has been awful. It’s remarkable how this defense has just tanked.
Once again the OP , you and other fans equate sacks as the only barometer if someone's playing well.. first of Willams was in car accident and hurt, Tank foot is hurt yet hes #1 DE in the league at run stop win rate, #! is trash huh, hes getting pressure, tips, battled balls etc, you miss that play in the titans game where he reached out and caused that fumble but the qb got it back quickly also a tipped ball caused a incompletion.? , parsons on one hand and other nagging injuries, the others ALL in similar situations. what is it with you people, do you just watch basic stat lines and determine players success??

they all Just played 3 games in 12 days with A lot of ROAD games including 2 more coming up, that a lo of travel in short time ,and again for the 2nd time this season that dreaded 3 games in 12 days and hard to keep up the energy but they still are applying pressure and getting Turnovers, as long as we have one, sacks or T/Os or getting off the field forcing incompletions etc we wil be ok.,

Quinn cut McKinley 3 1/2 years into his rookie contract for repeatedly complaining about playing the 5tech DE amongst other things involving his role, but he’s “one of his boys”? McKinley was brought in as insurance for if Lawrence had to have surgery on his foot again. Not sure why anyone would have ever expected to see him otherwise. Fowler had one of the 2 sacks vs the Titans!

He also had the pressure on Minshew that forced an early throw and incompletion on the last 4th down of the Eagles game.

this thread didn't age well. not sure why fans even come to open thread like this trying to call out payer or 2 and really doesn't use common sense and digs deeper into more than sack totals.

I think they maybe worn out from being over used early in the season. We need that number 1 seed to rest our guys.

Dante Fowler the poor man's Roquan Smith. Jerry was too cheap to bring in Smith who would have single handidly solidified the run stopping. This is what happens when you go cheap.
they don't even play the same position?????

Take a break Cowboys fans. Quinn’s defense is the reason why the Cowboys stayed afloat after Dak’s injury. The injuries to our secondary, Parsons, Armstrong, and DLaw has hurt us since the Packers game. Even though some of the injured players are still playing in the games it has slowed down our pass rush. No excuse but sometimes there are other reasons besides the coaches and players suck.

Except for nobody is saying anyone sucks here.

Through week 10, Parsons averaged 57 snaps a game (9 games). Since then (7 games) he's averaged 51 snaps a game.

So, Micah has been playing less, not more.

More at DE, though...That's the point.

Actually, no. I'm on record saying just the opposite: that stats aren't all that matters. I like the assumption, though.

Honestly, I wasn't calling out any players. You're assuming that. I'm talking about the snap counts other DEs are getting.

But continue on with your common sense assumptions.

What lol? Fowler is a pass rushing DE, Roquan is a true MLB. They are not versions of eachother by any stretch of the imagination. Do y’all watch the league?

Also, Roquan wasn’t a FA he got traded mid-season. How could Fowler be a cheap replacement for a guy who wasn’t even available when Fowler signed? Fowler and Smith have absolutely no correlation at all.

You are assuming Roquan Smith would have come to the Cowboys. That might not necessarily be the case.

Agreed. It would also help if our DTs showed up more consistently during the playoffs. When is the last time our DTs have been called for making a play? It's been quite some time. Our Defense definitely needs some run stopping and passing pressure up the middle if we expect to win some playoff games.

This is what happens when the front office doesn't care about the DT position. We go cheap and bargain bin hunt. Quantity over quality. DT isn't 'sexy' enough to move the meter for them. They only focus on building from the outside. We have been up the middle forever now and it's exposed when we play good teams in the playoffs. I mean, it's already been exposed already but it will be even more glaring come playoff time.

Our last 2 playoff losses, Rams and Niners, we were whipped in the trenches.

There are a couple threads roasting Quinn and the defense. You know the normal yahoos.

I'm not roasting Quinn, though. I like the guy. Just asking questions about what happened to our rotational guys....

That's all.

Simple.

Everyone else is too anxious to butt heads over something that's not even there.

Lots of assumptions in this thread. And I don't even say assumptions make an arse out of u and me, because logical assumptions are necessary. It's just that the assumptions in this thread lack the logical part, almost like a few didn't read the OP..

Yep. 100% correct!

For this they got rid of rookie big man DT John Ridgeway? Our current DTs have royally sucked most of the season, and like you said, they will get exposed come playoff time against much better teams.

Dan Quinn agreed to such a move early in the season. He is as much responsible for this. The blame shouldn't be entirely on the front office.
