Not sure what happened to Dante Fowler, but he seems to have disappeared as of late. I can't recall seeing him in on many, if any, plays recently.

Also, what happened to Takk McKinley? I thought he was one of DQ's boys and hasn't really made any impact on the team just yet. Is he even active?

Where has Sam Williams been? I can't understand why he hasn't seen more playing time, like at LB or DE... when we needed the help with LVE out.

I also can't wait for LVE to come back.. Eagles are talking trash over at their board, saying they will beat us "comfortably" with Hurts... But Minshew played better than Hurts has ever played vs. the Cowboys. So I don't see it.

I just want our defense to be at full health. I know we're not getting Anthony Brown back, which hurts, imo. But I think we can make due with Bland and Wright, especially if our defensive line guys step it up.

DEs will disappear when a defense doesn’t have DTs that can produce

not rocket science if one is willing to understand

Armstrong has been injured, if I recall correctly. Hasn't played much.

The issue I've noticed is there's not much of a rotation.

Remember Parsons calling a timeout? That's because he was in nearly the entire game.

Again, our pass rush was great because we rotated fresh talent. And we're not doing that anymore. I cannot understand why unless everyone is banged up.

Another part of the sack equation is that teams are releasing the ball quicker when playing against us.

I agree that we need to use the depth we have at that position more.
We have 6 NFL quality DE's (Micah, Tank, Armstrong, Fowler, Williams and Tak).
We need to rotate more to keep our best players fresh. I'd much rather see Micah skip a series in the 2nd or 3rd Q so he is fresh at crunch time. I do disagree about getting Micah more snaps at LB. He is ELITE as an edge rusher, and that's really the most impactful position on that side of the ball. I like using him where he can make the biggest impact, I'd just like to keep him fresh.

Also agree about teams getting it out faster, I think a big issue is our secondary. We have lost 2 of our staring 3 CB's, and unfortunately, Joseph and Wright have not stepped up like a 2nd and 3rd rounder should (though Brand has). I know Brown and Lewis are not stars, but they were at least solid. So opposing receivers are getting open more easily.
The Brady/Evans duo scares me if indeed we face Tampa in the PO's.
Would you shadow him with Diggs, or just double him every play? I even thought about putting someone like Kearse or even Clark up on him at the LOS and knocking him off his route, but the guy is so strong that would be risky. Still, Brady gets it out so fast so if you can at least affect Evans route it may make Brady go elesewhere with the ball. It's certainly an option to consider.

I'm not roasting Quinn, though. I like the guy. Just asking questions about what happened to our rotational guys....

That's all.

Simple.

Everyone else is too anxious to butt heads over something that's not even there.
No matter who we play during Wildcard week, it’s going to be a tough game. Win or lose the Cowboys will be ready.

Yep. 100% correct!

For this they got rid of rookie big man DT John Ridgeway? Our current DTs have royally sucked most of the season, and like you said, they will get exposed come playoff time against much better teams.

Dan Quinn agreed to such a move early in the season. He is as much responsible for this. The blame shouldn't be entirely on the front office.

Absolutely. I never thought Dan Quinn was some savior as many Dallas fans think he is. His defense plays good in stretches but they always revert back to their true colors when it matters most. He needs to have a lot of blame for his strategy through the games, especially playing way over WRs on 3rd down, allowing for easy pitch and catch for 1st downs.

Honestly, I wasn't calling out any players. You're assuming that. I'm talking about the snap counts other DEs are getting.

But continue on with your common sense assumptions.
stand by my assessment this thread was lame LOL haterade

2 players namedin thread title says im correct.. why not say DL defensive line defense etc etc you called out players BY NAME

Teams are getting the ball out quicker and we are selling out to stop the run.
Agreed, but if teams are getting pass out more quickly, we need to be in press man coverage, not loose zone.
If you bring pressure and play man, the QB is much more likely to be holding the ball longer.
Of course, there must be variety in approach as well.

It all fell apart when we released Trysten Hill and John Ridgeway.

They signed McKinley to the PS about the same time that they released Basham.
- i.e. McKinley replaced Basham as the 6th option at DE (injury replacement option).

Seriously, most of our pass rushers have disappeared almost completely!

Agreed. It would also help if our DTs showed up more consistently during the playoffs. When is the last time our DTs have been called for making a play? It's been quite some time. Our Defense definitely needs some run stopping and passing pressure up the middle if we expect to win some playoff games.
Dt besides Hankins a swing and a miss

Fowler was just involved in a sack versus the Titans.

I sounds funny but I still think Hill was the best DT they had before they sign Hankins. But Hill is a free agent after this season and I am sure they had no plans to re-sign him.

I think losing Ridgeway was a miscalculation, a dumb one, but a miscalculation none-the-less. I think they needed a roster spot and they thought they could sneak him onto the practice squad. Little did they know Washington had their eye on him - probably thought they could get him in the draft. Ridgeway doesn't look like much now, but I think he is going to be a very tough DT against the run for Washington in a year or two. Maybe they should have waived Bohanna instead. He might have made it to the practice squad.

Hey, what do you know? Lookie here! My man Robster has a level of reading comprehension a few others in the thread apparently do not have.

This post actually addresses what I was saying, all without being an ironic, snide, know-it-all.

Great post, and very on-point!

100% agree on Hill. He's not a world beater, but he does have more talent than Galloway, which I was surprised to see during the season. Yet, the let him walk.

As far as Ridgeway, I still don't see much talent there. So I think that was a good cut.

Stand by being wrong.

Embrace the willful ignorance.

I'll give you a hint, smart guy. My post isn't about the players sucking. It's about Parsons eating up their snap counts.at DE..
