I have heard that the Cowboys waived corner Micah Pellerin. I assume this means Tyler Patmon will be back playing this week; but I haven't been able to find any conformation. Maybe Pellerin's penalty that negated Dwayne Harris' punt return TD was a factor, too.

IRVING, Texas – A sign that Tyler Patmon’s sprained knee is feeling better: The Dallas Cowboys waived Micah Pellerin on Monday.

The Cowboys called Pellerin up from the practice squad after Patmon was hurt against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Nov. 9, and he played in three games but did not record a tackle or pass breakup.

If Pellerin clears waivers, he could be brought back to the practice squad.

With Patmon and safety Jeff Heath (thumb) out, the Cowboys have not used a dime package in the last two games. Patmon has two defensive tackles and returned his only interception 58 yards for a touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals. He also has five special teams’ tackles.

“We’ll give him a chance to practice a little bit on Wednesday and see how he responds to that,” coach Jason Garrett said. “But he’s been a good player for us, and that package against certain teams and certain personnel groups has been something that we’ve used a little bit. So depending on what his availability is that might be a possibility.”

The Cowboys have an open spot on their 53-man roster with this move.

On a side-note, I love seeing guys like Patmon not only make the team, but contribute at times as well, before his injury. Him being an UDFA, he had to work for everything he's gotten and it seems like he wasn't taking it for granted once the regular season started. I wonder what his ceiling is.

Bring in a third down pass rusher--anyone really. What's Charles Haley doing these days?

I'd really like to see Ken Boatright come in for a game. The fact he's still on the ps means their must be atleast some potential

Patmon is a special kid, he just has a knack for jumping routes in the slot, maybe better the scan in the slot. It would allow us to move scan to the outside

Can he suddenly be a solid contributor on special teams?

I think Michael Sam would be on a 53 right now if he could play special teams at an acceptable level.

It's a role Sam will likely have to embrace if he wants to get on a roster and attempt to hone his game.

He also needs a NFL off-season as most rookies do.

I've turned the page, I want better players, but Sam should get signed to a futures contract by some team following the regular season.

A team might sign him to a offseason contract after the regular season.

i believe if Carr is cut after the year he's competing for that spot but I'm just speculating cause Carr is still on the team and we still have games to play.
