I said all along at least one playoff win would give me peace and validate the great season in my eyes.

That has happened and I do still feel that way.

But...

All this Cowboy bashing and saying we were gifted the game gets me fired up and wanting us to prove ourselves all over again by shocking the world in Green Bay.

It's just playoff fever sucking me in I'm sure but what are your thoughts now?

Happy with 12-4 and a playoff win and now it's all gravy?

I wasn't expecting a playoff. In fact, I was expecting a top 10 pick in the 2015 NFL draft. So everything is gravy as far as I'm concerned.

I will be disappointed if we lose, but more so for Romo and Witten because they don't have much time left in this league. I REALLY want them to win. So my disappointment won't be necessarily that the Cowboys lose because the franchise will go on. I just want Romo and Witten to taste a Super Bowl.

I honestly believe if we get through the Lions, the Packers and the Seahawks (assuming we win Sunday and the Seahawks win), I don't think it matters who we play in the Super Bowl, we'll win. That's murderer's row right there. Reminds me of the 90s when we had to beat the Skins (who were coming off a Super Bowl championship), the Giants (who won the Super Bowl the season before the Skins and were still good), the Eagles (and the Gang Green defense) and the 49ers. We had to beat the Eagles then the 49ers at Candlestick.

I knew if we got through that gauntlet, the Super Bowl was a foregone conclusion. Same here.

I figured 9-7 mainly because of our defense. So, I'm a very happy camper right now.
I do have to admit though, there is a part of me that is expecting more now. I won't be mad if we don't win in GB
but I will be a little disappointed.
We had a great run so far this season.

All gravy from this point forward. Hard not to be proud of this season the way this team played as one unit. However almost nothing would be greater than winning in Green Bay this time of year. Win or lose the haters will be there either way but as I told one yesterday nothing is going to take away from what has happened this year. No loss will take away the wins, the GREAT season Romo has had, and the first chapter in what appears to be the foundation of the next dynasty. So pile on some more gravy I say!! Go Cowboys!!

No, I expected this team to win a playoff game for it to be a successful season and they have so I am content.

I'm not gonna lie...yes. After thinking this team wouldn't win more than 6 games, 12 wins and a playoff win, IMO, is a great season. If we lose, it will still suck, but I can live with it...and I'll see a ton of players again in the pro bowl a couple weeks later. lol

How could it not. Most fans figured us to be looking forward to a top 10 draft pick. I thought the schedule was going to be brutal and getting 6 or 7 wins would be the ceiling. I've been a huge Romo critic for two years now but he has brought me back to his side. I now think it would be possible to win a Super Bowl with romo. I didn't before this season. The December he had and then getting a playoff win is enough of a first step for me but I certainly want more. I think they have the ability to beat anyone but there is nothing but extremely good teams ahead, unless Carolina upsets Seattle of course. A loss to GB or Seattle won't upset me very much unless they get destroyed and Romo relapses.

I'm comforted believing we can maintain this level of success and even expand on it. We can be like GB and Seattle have been the last few years. If you get a good shot every year eventually you can bust through to a championship

After last week I feel like we are playing with house money...

Am I satisfied? No.. We're the Dallas Cowboys and winning a Wildcard game should mean nadda for us.

With that said... I just feel so fortunate to still be in the playoffs and im happy we get a chance to have a shot at getting to the NFC Championship.

It all depends on how they lose, honestly.

As long as we play our game, I could not be more proud of this team.

That said, I think this year has to be THE year. We'll never catch lightening in a bottle like this under this same regime. We're all in here.

This team is riding high on emotion. They are buying into the message and are a Tight, tight knit group. Coordinators could be gone. We may never be this healthy again, this late in the season. Sure we could field a better team, but this team has something the past better cowboys teams didn't have-- heart.

I am not really sure yet. This last win left a sour taste in my mouth with everyone thinking that Dallas pulled one over and cheated their way to a win. Now it feels like they have to get another to validate the Detroit win because if we lose to GB, the talking heads will continue to rip Dallas saying that they should have never been there.

I understand that things look great going forward but it will not take much to do a 180 next season. There are lots of FA's to sign, lower draft picks, Romo and Witten getting older. Not to mention that other teams will be looking to poach our coaching staff.

For me personally, I can deal with a loss and call it a good season but in today's NFL, it is a win now mode because you never know what events will transpire before the next season.

I think breaking the December curse by winning all four games, finishing 12-4, and winning a playoff game all adds up to a good season. But someone is going to win the Super Bowl, and as long as we are in the mix, it might as well be us.

My attitude changed a great deal. I watch games now and don't freak out in the first half when things are going badly. I'm a lot calmer and trust that this team will give its best and not make repeated, self-defeating errors. I now laugh at the amount of teeth-gnashing that occurs in game threads early on instead of participating.

.

This is true, but at the same time we have been told tha the front office, coaching and drafting has turned the corner also.
We won't know until the off season but even in todays NFL you can build a consistent winner. Other than age with some stars, we should be relevant at least for a few seasons.

At first, it was all gravy after Dallas beat Det. But now with the constantly whining about a few "missed" calls (Which happen for BOTH teams in every single game) I want Dallas to shock the world and beat GB at home.

I can only imagine the media circus and "I told you so's" if Dallas loses. Not something I'm looking forward to.

It was gravy for me just winning the division. There's no shame in losing in the divisional round in Green Bay with this team.

If I thought we were the clear cut better team I'd feel differently.

These generally match my sentiments, but I would add that it's very rare that you make it to the divisional round and can feel that you are the clear cut better team. If I were a Seattle fan and lost to Carolina...THEN I'd be disappointed. But that seems to be the exception.

What I don't look forward to is if we lose, the blame culture coming back in. There will be countless threads of:

  • Garrett's coaching
  • Romo's abilities
  • Jerry's lack of focus on getting defensive talent.
  • Getting a WR next to TWILL
  • Why didn't we run more
  • Why didn't we blitz more
  • Why didn't we pass more
  • Why would you blitz in that situation!?
  • Blow it up

I get pretty aggravated when things go bad and this stuff crops up. When things go well (and anyone who thinks they haven't gone well is fooling themselves) then it's unbearable.

The one thing I hope for, even if we lose, is a better game than we gave the vikings in 2009. I feel like Romo and the line are already going to make that happen.
