Has your opinion on the team changed dramatically since the San Fran loss?

To me no. And the reason is because the season to me is about the journey not the destination. I just cherish all these relevant football Sunday’s.

So yes we are 4-2 and right in the mix. Yes San Fran the bad guys lost twice and look humbled. But still that Sunday night game was so bad and such a non competition you honestly feel a bit hoodwinked. Like the team just sells you a bunch of fluff every offseason but in reality they just aren’t an upper echelon organization.

Every year 2 teams make it to the NFCCG. Out of 16. That’s a 1 in 8 chance. Or a 12% chance to make it every year.

To not make it 30 years in a row is beyond bad luck it tells me they just are built different and that San Fran was an example of it. The cowboys aren’t Innovative they just match the baseline success of other good teams and draft well enough to be relevant and latch holes with veterans no one wants anymore !

Nothing's changed for me. It's the way they played at SF. They didn't even show up.. Beating Philly would be impressive though. Let's see if they show up for that game. Beating average to below average teams just doesn't do it for me anymore. They're supposed to win those games.

Yea I think we’re at the point where nothing would make us feel confident heading into any post season matchup.

What would make me happy tho is to see a few practice squad no name types step up and have magical seasons. Someone I can root for. I feel like it’s been awhile since we had a story like that.

Could use a corner or linebacker to become awesome

the cardinals and 49ers loss took me out of the season. Not fully out but it just really numbed me by how we loss, its one thing to lose, but like everyone said, its like we didnt even show up to win.

Only thing im hoping on is theyve been throwing out Big macs playsheet and getting the oline gelling.

Not really. Still a good team that refuses to be great.

Whether we like to admit it or not certain teams have favorable personnel against others. It is what it is. SF is built physically and mentally tough, and for some reason Dallas struggles against those teams. My feelings won’t change until Dallas proves me wrong, not SF

Long season. Those two losses we didn’t show up. Total team losses. Those are like the bad grades that get thrown out at the end of the semester hopefully

The Cowboys have enough talent to be competitive for playoff success. IMO, what they lack is not talent. It’s toughness. This team has been soft for far too long.

Our culture is IMO THE main reason for the softness. This organization is tainted by the big boys at the top who are perfectly satisfied with being “relevant”, and being talked about, and having big TV ratings. As if that matters. They act like they have accomplished something without the actual accomplishment. That filters down to the players.

What could be softer than the owner hiring his kids based on DNA not qualifications and with no accountability for results?

When our fans complain about the “lack of respect” for this team I cringe. Because in my book this team won’t earn any respect until they do something more than a wild card win. This team is what they’ve been for the last 27 years until they prove they are something more. Jersey sales, stadium size, tv ratings, Forbes ”championships”? Who cares?

Win some freakin’ playoff games as in more than a wild card game for a change. Then I’ll believe this organization isn’t soft.

When this team can play consistently good, not just every 2 or 3 games, my opinion will change. When they get punched in the mouth, they fold...

Has not changed much. But went down a bit, but that happened after the Cardinals loss as well. Never came back up after the Patriots win.
Mine opinions changed more on. a few players more than the team.

However, I also know it is early, we have 11 games left. And they need to and can get a few things quickly. The offense really needs to gel fast. Like NOW. The Rams game will not be a cake walk, nor the Eagles game of course.
These next two games to me are more important to set the tone.

Get back with me after these next two games. Though the next 4 after are winnable games, but can be questioned if they fall down in the next 2.

Actually, the chance of each team making it to the CCG is below 12% because that equation would require several different factors than just number of teams and the final two slots.

For example, there are 7 playoff spots in each conference that would need to be calculated first.

Then you would also need to factor in 4 reserved division winner slots, 3 of which a team can never win regardless of their record.

Then you would have to factor in each playoff round and even if you ignore home team modifiers it would be a 50% chance per game once a team makes it into the playoffs while also reducing the size of the pool 2 times (wildcard + division round) from 7 teams down to the final 2 per conference.

To your point though, after 28 years, I don't care what the odds are, the Cowboys should have made it to the CCG at least once or twice. :D

My biggest gripe about the SF game is the game plans on both sides of the ball. The Rams threw for over 300 yards against the 49ers by using a vertical passing game. The Cowboys were dinking and dunking which is the worst possible plans against the 49ers. It plays to their strength which is their two super quick LBs. The Vikings used the same plan last night and had over 400 yards.

I have changed y mind about this team because I worry the coaches do not prepare for opponents the way they should.

I didn't believe that the Cowboys had closed the gap with San Francisco going into that matchup, and if anything, it looked like the gap had widened. I think that the Cowboys are a good team, but not on the level of San Francisco or Philadelphia when it comes to down to down physicality. Roster health will dictate a lot for all teams as to how it all shakes out, but the Cowboys IMO do not have the grit necessary to win against those teams in the playoffs.

This team is more or less the same as the 2021 and 2022 team. The defense just can't seem to actually take that next step and the offense is regressing.

It kind of reminds me of how the Packers were under McCarthy. Yeah they were going to have regular season success, but they weren't going to beat the physical teams in the playoffs.

I don't have a lot of faith in them, and won't unless the offense starts performing like 2014/2016.
