I guess you have to decide how you want to do business really...You want to win at all costs, regardless of the message it sends, or do you want to continue to foster a franchise that is respected not just for the success on the field but the way they run things off the field.

I see clubs and teams in a variety of sports and the ones that always draw my disgust are those that refuse to consider respect and honor in the equation.

I'm not saying the Cowboys (even before TO) are filled with choir boys but few come to mind in recent years that you'd see with a rap sheet like Tank's...Nobody says he doesn't deserve another chance but why in football?...Let the guy see what the real world is like and try to make a living without people throwing money at him...You reap what you sow

It was a good business decision. Low risk High reward. If he screws up we cut him and we hardly lose anything. If he plays well and follows the
league rules he will get paid. No one has thrown money at him, by the sound of it he was a desperate man wanting to come back and do something he loved, he pushed for signing with us before the self imposed deadline. It wasn't like he was shopping around for a team.

This is his last stop, and why not sign a former bears player the week before we play them. It might give us a small edge.

Lets not hit the panic button.

Didn't Parcells also write a letter to a Judge to spring Leonardo Carson from a jail term, a little early?
I actually think I meant Carson and posted Coleman.

You can add his boy Marcus Coleman to the list.
Kudos, you are correct.

You and many say this now but if Jerry passes on the next Randy Moss you all scream. While I think that having good character players on your squad is important, it is also important to have talent. I remember an argument last year where many here thought we had too many nice guys on defense, well guess what if this guy plays like his rap sheet we now have a "thug" that so many wanted on this defense. Jerry is in a business where winning is so important and i think he did this because he saw an opportunity and he saw how the Eagles defense was reeling and he would rather take a risk on this guy then have the eagles take a risk on this guy. Also many have said there is very little downside to this signing, I sorta relate it to Glenn's 1st contract with us after we traded for him, Glenn new his act in the NFL was running thin.

The perception that all Parcells did was clean up this team is as fake as Paris Hilton's interview with Larry King.

"That's hot."

Or the ten years without a playoff victory?

Hmm...what team's fans almost always seem to mention this as a criticism concerning the Cowboys?

Bear Bryant was quoted one time as saying, "I have enough FCA players; I need a few that I have to go bail 'em out of jail."

Wade's got some kick a** to his personality and I believe he thinks this defense needs some more mean SOBs and Tank fits that description.

FWIW, John Clayton praised the move on ESPN tonight.

Apparently, his pro-Seattle bias trumps his anti-Dallas bias.

I just might have to add that to my sig.... I love it.

As opposed to the Commanders who went to the crypt and signed the cryptkeeper as their new HC. LOL

What a bunch of self-serving bullcrap. Jerry never made any such distinctions about "active roster" players. If he did, guys like Keith Davis would be wearing a different uniform.

Keith Davis was cut for disobeying a team curfew rule. And he was the one shot, twice, not the one shooting. Is it ok if my self-serving bullcrap extends to players that didn't break the law, or should I want them gone, too?

You miss the point entirely about active roster players. It's one thing to sign someone with a history and to provide support for them in an effort to improve your team (and their life). It's another to keep a distraction on the active roster to the detriment of the team or to allow them to compromise the team salary cap. So far, we've done neither of the latter.

What recent record? 2-0? Or the ten years without a playoff victory?

I'm referring to the hiring of Calvin Hill, and the effort on the part of the team to support players that need guidance and counseling. The effort that's supposed to be an example the NFL front office touted to ownership at recent team meetings. I said 'recent' because this effort took place after the flame out in the mid-nineties.

I'm sure he's crushed by your disapproval.

I haven't asked him. If he's not crushed, does that make his opinion worth something, or does he also have to have a valid point?

He also brought back Keith Davis and kept him around after a 2nd shooting incident.

The perception that all Parcells did was clean up this team is as fake as Paris Hilton's interview with Larry King.

Mosley is way off base here. Just what were the character issues in the 90s before Parcells arrived, that he had to clean up. Who traded for Bryant?

Mosely is full of it.
