IRVING, Texas – Cowboys defensive tackle Jason Hatcher was not happy seeing quarterback Tony Romo sandwiched between two Giants pass rushers Sunday night.

"I was mad," Hatcher said Monday. "We've got to do a better job of blocking for him. We need that guy. He's a great quarterback. If he goes down, the team is going to go down. We need to do a better job of protecting him. That's what I was thinking."

"I told them last night, just put me in there - I'll cut somebody," Hatcher said. "We need that guy. We don't need him getting banged up at all."

Hatcher was so upset when the Giants sandwiched Romo that he volunteered to take snaps on OL. Probably never going to happen but you have to love that in a player.

Not just in a get-the-QB kind of way, but in a take-him-out kind of way. It's about time we get chippier with that crowd over there. Especially now that Jacobs is back.

I'll always remember in the Giants playoff game when Romo was taking a pounding, there were plays where they'd rock Romo after he had released the ball and as Tuck and Osi were getting up off him, they'd had this crap eating grins on their faces. They enjoyed beating Romo up and it's our job to do something about it but man did I hate those guys in that moment.

To hear Hatcher talk...and this isn't the first comment like this I've heard from him, that attitude is changing, quickly, in Dallas. I'm sort of loving it, assuming it plays out that way on the field this weekend. This is starting to feel like a statement game this week.

This team needs more players with the same attitude as Jason Hatcher. One thing I miss more than anything is this type of player on the Dallas Cowboys.
