"In Dallas, Owens replaces Keyshawn Johnson, and while that's an upgrade, it's really just a small one." FoxSports Article}

did any1 besides me find this funny? its just a small upgrade? oh please. we went from an above average WR that every team has at least one of, to the best big WR in the league (i would say best Wr in the league but i still feel Steve Smith took that crown)

but yeah... lol @ the T.O. bashing. that guy must have a real hatred for the Cowboys :lmao:

MASSIVE upgrade...Key was a darn good WR for us but NO defense we faced was overly concerned about stopping him. NO one double teamed, no team had to. They accepted that he'd get some catches but none of them would be back breakers and Key couldn't beat a team by himself. Teams we faced could double TG and Witten all day knowing that they were our big playmakers. They won't be able to do that anymore.
TO (not that I like him all of a sudden either) can beat a team by himself. He forces the defense to at least double cover him and probably roll a third player to at least help out on occasion. TO causes defenses nightmares because they know that he will still get catches even if you double cover him and not only that, but he will run after the catch and take it to the house. Flat out TO is one of the rare guys in the league that can change a game in a few plays.
With TO drawing all the attention, TG and Witten (and Crayton) will get single coverage and no one can cover TG or Witten one on one. Give Bledsoe a little time and our offense will be quite lethal.
Bottomline is that our offense got TONS better overnight. I still don't care for TO but he's one of the top players in the league easily.

Fox Sports is kind of crazy. A little bit of an upgrade!? Are you kidding?! TO is tons better at this point in his career than Keyshawn. They will be proven wrong.

The thing that gets me is now Keyshawn is portrayed as a must have at the WR position by the media, however when he was a Cowboy he was too slow and washed up etc.

Now this is just absurd saying it's just a small upgrade, Keyshawn has had 9 40+ yd plays in his entire career. Owens had 9 in 2004. By the way Keyshawn had 0 40+ yd plays in Dallas... So Owens could very well in the first game surpass Keyshawn in plays of 40+ yds... Very small upgrade what a load of BS

You TO lemmings are a disgrace. This forum did nothing but hate on TO when he was somebody else's problem. But now that he's a Cowboy, "don't you dare say anything mean about him!" Pathetic.

I personally like TO and am glad he's in Dallas. Those people who still can't stand him, I really don't blame them. He did disrespect our Star, which could very well be unforgivable. I for one, though, am wishing him and my Cowboys the best of luck.

Saying he is a small upgrade over Keyshawn is just an intellectually indefensible position to take, notice nobody is trying to defend it? That is what this thread is about...

It's a stupid title but if you look at the actual issue that is what matters and I know you wouldn't defend the statement that TO is just a small upgrade over Keyshawn. I would say its more against the Cowboys than TO himself, when Keyshawn was a Cowboy he was too slow and washed up, now TO is a Cowboy he is only a small upgrade over the slow and washed up Keyshawn.

Hey, I like Keyshawn as much or more than anyone. I really admire the guy, and I think any team would be lucky to have him on the field.

But come on? TO is a big play threat. He completely changes the way defenses play.

I liked Keyshawn's effort...but...Owens (much as I can't stand what I've seen from him) is a huge upgrade...and he's an upgrade way beyond the numbers he'll put up because he'll stop teams from crowding the line to stop the run. Safeties will have to play back out of respect for Owens..which they didn't have to do with Johnson.

I still reserve my judgement on TO. I wait till i see him play but... based on previous activites

His abilty on the field, is very much out weighed by his abilty to single handly destroy a team from the core. So while he is a beast on the field, unlike Key He can bring down the entire team, to a mere 6-10.

But that record is better than those 5-11 seasons.
