Have the skins become the NFC East's "Arizona"

I agree. Let's worry about making our own bed before criticizing someone else's.

Skins beat us twice and made it into the divisional playoffs.

We haven't won a playoff game in 9 years.

Misery loves company.

The Skins also beat us with a much less talented team and they've got some serious upgrades with Andre Carter,Archeletta on defense and Lloyd and Randel El on offense. Their QB of the future has apparently made enough progress that they felt comfortable trading Ramsey, plus they added Al Saunders as their offensive coordinator, who is one of the best. I don't see anything for us to crow about yet.

Carter and Archuleta are major upgrades? Please, know what you are talking about. The 49ers let Carter walk even though he is supposed to be this pass rushing phenom who has only had one good Season in his career. Archuleta was let go by a Rams team that has no defense? Can you name someone in the secondary besides Ty Hill?

On offense their offense is old on the Line and at QB, but they have some youth at the skill positions, yet have overpaid all of them. They let the next "Lawrence Taylor" hit free agency, and traded away another 2nd round pick in next year's draft.

The Commanders will always be able to contend in the NFCE with Gibbs coaching, but you cant always depend on just coaching to get you far in the playoffs.

Also factor in that I'm sure playing for SF and the Rams really gives no hope of being a contender for the next couple years.

Consider also that Gregg Williams has a knack for helping average talent explode under his watch/schemes (see Marcus Washington, Lemar Marshall, Cornelius Griffin, Joe Salave'a, Antonio Pierce).

They were offered handsome contracts, but I think the 49ers/Rams would have had to offer significantly more to keep them, and if they wanted to leave (like Lavar wanted to leave because he was on the outs in DC), sometimes money isn't the end all.

Is that right? Tell that to the midget that owns your team! NFL players know where to go...to get money that they are not even worth! :lmao2:

Who do you consider the next LT? Please don't say LaVar Arrington.

The next LT is....retired and has sadly passed away. When Derrick Thomas played for the Chiefs, he was my favorite non-Cowboy from growing up.

Not to completely shoot down Archuleta and Carter, but Carter fits in where on D, DE or OLB? Archuleta fits in where too? If ST even plays this year, Does he get pushed back in coverage or is Archuleta the FS?

Their roles are confusing too.

Now, money may not the end all, but do you honestly think they would have offered an amount even close to what Danny Boy offered?

These are players who really havent shown much(save Carter's one season) to hand out those contracts. Restructuring is going to keep happening.

I'm sure Greg Williams will know how to use Andre Carter. He's probably going to play as a DE for most of the time. Sean taylor (who is not goin to jail) is our FS, AA will be our SS. There you go.

When Carter had the big year, it was as a DE in the 4-3...he's been misplaced as an OLB in the 3-4 the past few years and will be at DE again this year.

I think Archuleta is likely to play SS and play more run support as Taylor has much better cover skills. Archuletas strengths are blitzing, hitting, and run support. After all he was a linebacker in college.

huh? that doesn't even make sense, but I agree, we need to win a playoff game or 2

Average talent? All I ever hear is how great Taylor, Rogers, Washington, and Springs are. Then you say Greg WIlliams makes average talent explode??? C'mon man which is it?

Looking at the threads at extremeskins back when you boys were 5-6, Greg Williams could have run for mayor of DC and lost to a crack addict......er uh, sorry that actually happened. I meant GW could have run for mayor against a dead body and lost.

Yeah, he better have some good cover skills...he better learn how to cover that behind of his...when Bubba from Cell Block C comes looking for the punk!

Looks like we'll have to do it again in 2006...or at least go 4-2, to truly make believers out of people.

uh, yeah, do you want to be just one-year wonders?

wouldn't it actually have been easier for Carter to rush the passer as a 3-4 rush LB since he wasn't grappling with OTs every down?

Hey, leave the BOY(Riggo Boy) alone...he's just following Art's (his daddy from ES) orders!

Come on, man, the RedStinks finally swept the Boyz last year! It's been so long since that has happened...they think they are ON TOP OF THE NFL WORLD!

Suckers...poor RedStinks! :lmao:

I think you meant to say that the Skins can whip some Boys, not that the Skins are 'whipping boys'. :)

This is the year that establishes whos return to NFL football was more successful, Gibbs or Parcells.

Of course 2005 will mean absolutely nothing if there is a crash and burn in 2006. Just as Parcells return to the NFL will be considered a failure if the Cowboys don't make the playoffs this year.
