Have we closed the gap on the Eagles?

Yes but you said it in the context of the effectiveness of the Eagles QB.

Fact is, Wentz is a really good QB and unless there is a set back with his recovery, he's going to be the Eagles QB this year, not Foles.

He didn’t say it in that context. YOU took it in that context. He literally only compared the two players accuracy and he made no statement about the overall quality of either QB.

Zeke wasn't a strength last year. So unless he is the 2016 Zeke (same for the 2016 Dak).
For most of 10 games he was. You didn’t notice how we struggled without him. If he plays 16 games he probably rushes for 1500 yards.

Um, the thread is clearly about have we closed the gap on the eagles talent wise. If he made a statement about accuracy in a post about talent, then yes, he did make it in that context.

Ok I’ll say it. Wentz is a better QB than Dak. He was on pace for a MVP season while Dak was average at best.

After watching these two games against the eagles ( the first one without elliot) and the second one against the eagles backups, I wonder if our Oline can hold up against their Dline.

What do you guys think? I’m cautiously optimistic that we did a little.

I think we're closer to them than we showed last year in the first game, but I can't say anything we've done makes us a better team than the Eagles.

In that first game, we were without Lee on defense, and we sucked in games where Lee was missing. And we were without Tyron Smith and Ezekiel Elliott on offense, with Smith hurting us worse because it meant we had to start Byron Bell.

The Eagles also had some injuries to overcome, but showed last year they can do a much better job of that than we can. Maybe drafting LVE and Williams and picking up Fleming will help us with that this year.

Of course, with the changes to our receiving corps and tight end position, it's possible that we'll be worse than we were last year while I don't expect the Eagles to slip. However, I think the offensive line improvements and possible defensive improvements will compensate for that ... and it's possible these receivers and tight ends will turn out fine for what we want to do.

Bottom line is if he plays 16 games he is All Pro season probably taking us to the playoffs. You call it what you will. I’ll call RB with Zeke a strength.

Sure. So if Zeke averages 4.1 ypc again this season, pretty sure you won't be calling his play a strength. Anyone can get the overall yardage with enough touches.

Then what was the point of bringing up Foles name in the context of this thread talking about the gap between us and the Eagles and then pointing out that Wentz isn't that accurate a QB when it's pointed out to him that it will be him, not Foles who likely will be the Eagles QB?

Nowhere did he say Dak is or isn’t a better QB than Wentz. Nor did he criticize Wentz’ overall level of play. There are many more factors that go into a QB’s overall talent than just accuracy.

Like I said. He made no comment about the OVERALL QUALITY of either QB.

Really doesn't matter who we face if our OL is playing to it's potential.

I think that's the difference this year. I expect a huge year from Zeke to say the least.

In fact, I think Zeke could even break Murray's record of 1,845 yards...and in less carries.

Feed Zeke!

Sydla, you made a post about how somebody is blind if they think Wentz isn’t a very good QB.

He never said Wentz isn’t a very good QB. He merely commented on one aspect of Wentz’s overall play. When you and I both know there are many many factors that go into overall QB play.

That’s all I was pointing out. No need to get defensive about somebody “criticizing Wentz” when they didn’t even really criticize his overall ability.

4.1 means nothing if he leads league in rushing.

Murray avg less YPC for his years in Dallas when he led the league and All Pro most valuable offensive player of the year.

Your dissecting a stat which means little in the overall scheme of things.

No.

Actually that was in response to his comments.

Humor me and entertain the question. Why did he bring up Foles and then Wentz's accuracy in a thread about the gap between us and the Eagles?

It's not about getting defensive over Wentz. It's about trying to figure out where he was going with his Foles/Wentz commentary.

Than ask him what he meant and don’t assume something he never said.

Maybe he does believe Wentz sucks. Maybe he doesn’t. You could just ask him instead of getting defensive and inferring something was said, that wasn’t.

Wentz’s health and whether Foles will
Play significant time or not will have an affect on their season one way or another.

It’s very possible for somebody to think Dak is more accurate than Wentz, but also believe Wentz is a better overall QB than Dak.

It’s also possible for somebody to believe Dak can be just as good a QB as Wentz and think Wentz is a very very good QB.

For the last time, Somebody bringing up one negative about Wentz doesn’t mean they don’t
Think he is a good QB.

Closed the gap? How by the draft? A couple of rookies?

They will only get better when they get Wentz back. And they did quite nicely in FA. The best thing we have going with Philly is that its unlikely they have another dream season.
