Former Packers HoFer Arnie Herber had such small hands that he would palm the ball rather than grip it (the ball was also rounder back then). Somehow he was able throw accurately enough to complete a ton of TD passes to fellow HoFer Don Hutson.

Eddie LeBaron also had small hands but it didn't stop him from throwing well.

Found a little blurb on Herber:

Herber first connected with the now-legendary receiver in the second game of Hutson's career on an 83-yard touchdown pass that stood as the difference in a 7-0 win over the Chicago Bears, Sept. 22, 1935.
