Have not heard much about him this TC. But I think he can be a big hitter. What are his chances of beating out Jeff Heath to start. I think I feel more comfortable with Frazier in there over Heath.

Anyone have anything as to why or why not?

As I said I have not read or heard much. But seems his play has improved some from what little I seen. Any film guru's notice any different?

They might keep him or place him on the ps. He wasnt making enough buzz for safety.

Not sure he is PS eligible as he played in too many games last year. not sure what the rules are anymore.
I think he makes the team, we need a 4th S, and he makes it over Blanton.

What games he played in last year? Well they might keep him on the roster then.

They're not afraid to rotate their Safeties. He'll get a fair bit of work this season.

I also recently heard he had a stress fracture in his foot last year. That was news to me, at least. And explains in part why we saw so very little from him last season. I had hoped he'd be a big hitter on special teams.

Kevon won't beat out Jeff.

Didn't really shine at Central Michigan until his senior year; was only second team all-MAC then.
So, he has a long way to go (not as far as Heath had) before his instincts, recognition, and pass coverage skills mature.

He has an NFL body, though and loves to hit. Played mostly ST last year; was inactive for 4 games.

Should continue to grow into a special teams beast, while developing the full skillset.
His head coach at CM was John Bonamego, the former special teams coordinator with Detroit.

Frazier & Woods should be the backups.

Frazier is much better than last year, when he was a small college rookie. He will be a quality ST guy and backup S, to me he similar to Barry Church but with (slightly) better coverage skills. That's faint praise in coverage but Barry Church didn't start until his fourth season here (it would have been his third but he got hurt) and Church was an starter for four seasons.

Surprised we seem to have so many young safeties with potential on the roster. Seems like we were running through a bunch of mediocre veterans for a decade plus. Now we have some home grown guys in Jones, Heath, Woods and Frazier. Let's just hope they actually turn into something.

Agree. Our 10th DB will either be Duke Thomas or Marquez White and either one could be better than the starters when we were rolling out guys like Alan Ball.

I have no doubt that Frazier makes the team. See him as being a valuable S.T. player and backup this year, by year 3 for him, I think both him and Woods will be challenging for that S.S. spot. And if they do not make that step up (They will) Strong Safety moves up in next years draft.

Nice background check. Good info.
