Having 3 starting running backs is pointless when

Choice has "proven" he can stay healthy? How many games has he played? He will get hurt eventually. You can't prove you can stay healthy. That's ridiculous. Its a matter of luck usually. He will get hurt eventually and then you will rue trading the Barbarian. There is a reason we have three backs: its called injuries. :D

Having three has been a godsend, given the injuries to Barber and Felix. Two healthy ones would be ideal, but that has not been an option.

Doesn't/ Does

Yes it does. A player can become injury prone. usually happens when they get older. Felix is just injury prone full stop.

What point are you trying to make?

Apparently one that went over your head.

Ok, so were Michael Irvin and Ken Norton injury prone?

We're tied for 16th in the NFL in pass attempts per game. Whats that make those other coordinators?

Your a slightly above average football team. Hear me out before you gather an opinion. Having 3 backs like we have is a luxury and only when your loaded at every position should you keep all three. We need to move one of them as they are a major asset. Tashard is the only only one proven he can stay healthy so I say we have to keep him. Felix is a change of pace back and we need to keep him. That leaves Barber. I hate to say it but there are only so many times you can hand the ball off and still win. When all three are healthy and we run the ball 30x a game on average and Barber gets 17 of them, Felix gets 8-9 and Tashard gets 4 or 5. Well, how is our team benefiting from having an NFL quality starter only getting the ball 4 times? That's like being a 9-7/8-8 team and having Romo, Matt Schaub and a young guy like Matt Ryan as our qb's. Why would you keep all three if you could trade one for a decent price. Barber will have worth to this following team who can not get a yard when they need it, the Texans. Barber for Cushings???? Just a suggestion. Opinions overall

sorry - i get tired of people who's only reason to watch football is to figure out todays trade bait.

we've got a great combo, leave it alone.

Its relative. His refusal to go with what his players are best suited for hurts the unit as a whole.

The linemean, the backs, QB and receivers are all better suited to a run more than pass system which also helps the defense.

Look, even beyond that this 53 man roster dictates we should run the ball more than we do, not running the ball does 2 CRUICAL things: it increases your chances of turnovers, and it decreases your time of possession.

Tony Romo is a veteran pro bowl QB. Jason Witten is the best TE in football. Roy Williams and Patrick Crayton are proven NFL WR's. Martellus Bennett is an athletic freak who can potentially be a nightmare matchup in the passing game. Barber and Choice are excellent receivers out ofthe backfield, and the OL's MO for several years has been that they are better at pass protection than run blocking.

Thats your opinion. They've run the ball sporadically for years. Thsi year appears to be better, but Denver and even KC for alot of that game shut down the run because they decided it was in their best interest to load up and take it away.

The Cowboys are 3rd in the lague in rushing yds per game, lead the league by a wide margin in yds per attempt, are 2nd in the league in rushing first downs, lead the league in rushing plays over 20 yds, rank 12th in the league in rush attempts per game (conversely, they rank only 16th in pass attempts per game) and rank 11th in TOP per game, just seconds outside being in the top-10.

I think you are doing what too many here do, nit picking.

I don't think its nit picking when the objective is to improve and play the best ball you can. I am the first to think we have better offensive talent for the passing game than some think, but the point is, they would all be even better if the defense didn't know or believe when we were going to pass it. Do the nubers and rankings say we do run the ball, sure they do - but it means little because it could clearly be drastically more so if the philosophy and effort was to do so.

Are we equipped for passing success, I believe yes. Are we better equipped for rushing success, I also believe yes.

But most important is the bottom line that the 2 most important stats in the game are who gets more turnovers than gives up, and who has the ball more than the other team. BOTH of those are greatly improved by running the ball as often and as well as you can.

Brookings, Cushings...erroneous additions of letters to people's names makes me absolutely sick.

I wonder what Jason Whiten and Michael Irving think about that? :D

I said it last year one of them has too go because we can get a very good trade deal. We are just wasting away there careers (atleast one of their careers) I say we trade Barber and keep choice and Felix. Choice is still young and he will grow a big more which is good he is a complete back. Trade Barber and bring in a better free safety or another receiver.

The days of finding safeties on the waiver wire who can help your team is gone. Can it happen? Sure. Does it happen enough to count on it? No. So what's my point? Well, the safety position has changed so much you don't find them on trees. ie, teams aren't trading one of the hardest positions to fill for one of the easiest to find.

Or put another way, you're not going to get a lot for a RB unless they are very, very special. And you don't trade very, very special players these days.

I'd trade anyone of them if we were offered a lot in return.

Trade Barber first, then Felix and then Choice. IMO, Choice has the best chance at a solid, long productive career, and I think he has just as much heart as Barber.

Felix Jones for Urlacher?! Two injury prone players that are like ferrari's sitting in your garage with no gas.
Except that Urlacher is like a 92 Ferrari with high miles and Felix is like a 2008 Ferrari with very low miles. I'll take my chances with the 08 model, thank you.

Yeah, really over my head. Reread my original post and then stop posting.
