Now that is an oxymoron if I ever saw one. Great FPS...there's no such thing. Best one is Metroid and it's playable only because it's Metroid.

Why would you not have sent in your other Xbox that scratches discs if you got the red lights?

My original 360 I sent in to get fixed and ended up getting another broken one back. After that pfft! I said forget it. What I think is happening is that M$ is recycling faulty systems to other costumers. I'll probably get the elite and then send in the 360 I have now to get fixed and hope I don't get sent back another faulty system.

As far as FPS goes, Metroid was meh..I had it on gamecube just couldn't seem to get into it. Resistance was the first FPS I sat through and played through more than once in a long while. Still it's not close to Gears of War but is very much a good game in it's own right. I never got to play through GOW all the way though because I kept getting disc read errors.

To each there i own i suppose, i hated gears online, the lvls are to small. The campaign was extremly short, even for fps game. The failure rates on the new xboxs are supposed to be still decently high. obviously lower than the older ones though. Do you have a ps3?

I take great care of all my electronic goods and I am already on my third XBOX360 as we speak. This has been the only video game system that I have ever had problems with over the past 20 years. The last time I sent it in with the red ring the UPS guy who dropped off the shipping box said he gets a ton of those a week. Then when I got another back, it was FedEx and they said the same thing.

I still like my 360 and have been tempted to get the PS3 but hopefully this issue has been resolved. The only problem I have now is Madden 08 is causing disc error issues. This is probaby due to the game itself since there are quite a few others having the same problem. I pulled out my hard drive and repowered it back on and then turned it off and then reinserted the HDD. I hope it fixes it. I was laying the smack down on the Giants when I froze up.:bang2:

lol how many times does kojima have to deny these rumors until 360 owners understand. Kojima is pushing ps3 to up there blu ray disc space to the 50 gig isntead of the regular. 360 discs just cant hold it. REsistance was great. Psn is not laggy at all.

dedicated servers cost money to run. your service is free. i HIGHLY doubt sony is paying for them. how many times did we hear gta was a ps2 exclusive? how many times did we hear Mr Kojima say MGS wasn't going to be on an xbox? How many times were the people saying those were wrong?

1.So because you like the 360 more are you a 360 fanboy? Seriously that is the most overused tag to throw on anyone. Say something positive about a system and they have to be a fanboy. I have a 360 and a PS3 and as it stands right now I have more games for my 360. However as I have already previously stated I intend to get more of my 3rd party games for the PS3 since the hardware is much more reliable at this point. That's a fact you cant grasp. 360 has a 16.4 percent out of a 1000 hardware failure rate compared to PS3's 3 percent. I've had trouble with two 360 systems myself but the percentages are what really matter. As I previously stated I will get an elite here shortly to see if the hardware is really alot more reliable than in the past. Why would I go out of my way to own 2 and possibly 3 360's if I didn't like the system?

2. This is important, point to me in this thread where I said that Bluray is better than HDDVD. Let me know what you find

The fact that you are so incredibly defensive shows if anything you to be the fanboy..if you really want to go with that term. You don't see me getting overly defensive about the PS3 and I've show more than enough love towards both systems here. I can point out flaws and things that upset me with both systems. There's a reason I waited 2 years to get a PS3.

The idea behind my post was to make a point that I'm not entirely privy to one system or the other as Rack seems to have conjured up in his mind labeling me a PS3 fanboy for seeing particular traits in it I like better than the 360. Am I making much ado about nothing? I'm sure I am but the fanboy tag is stupid and shouldn't be used for anyone over the age of 18 that can afford to buy their own systems.

Every system on that list I owned accept for the Neo Geo which I played on occasion and it was based on opinion. I always played my master system more than the NES, they had very similar game lineups but I liked the controller a little more on the master system. I was also little at the time and it's been a while sine I've pulled some of these systems out of the closet . Thus I'm sure my opinion could easily be change today if I sat down and tinkered with them again.

If your really honest neither the Jaguar or 3DO had really good games. Jaguar had AVP which was considered to be one of the greatest games of it's time and then 3DO had the Ghecko or whatever the hell he was. Neo Geo kicked the crap out of both of them though basically being an arcade in a box with games like Metal Slug, King of Fighters, Samurai Showdown, the list could go on...

PS2 had the better gaming lineup than the Xbox but the Xbox hardware was more reliable and I guess if you want to use the graphical argument it excelled there to. I got more enjoyment out of games like Halo and Splintercell over Metal Gear Solid 2. ( The whole Raiden thing or w/e pissed me off) It's kind of the reverse this generation which is why I like the PS3 more. Again though, my opinion isn't yours and obviously cant be taken as fact.

I know the service is free, i use it everyday and never had a problem. Unlike my friends who have had live go down for days, and this was after his system was being fixed for a THIRD TIME. So basicly you disregard what kojima says, you disregard teh fact that 360 discs dont have suffecient storage? Ps3 will have better exclusives, even is you disclude mgs, even you must know that.

theres no doubt the first 6-7 shipments had them. but NOT everyone shipped had problems. True people are complaing about the 360's hardware faults while people are complaing about the ps3's lack of library which they have never had to deal with to the extent they are dealing with now

you put "dedicated servers?" so i clairified incase you misread or misunderstood. Only time live has been down for me is when they are doing updates but i get notifications from xbox letting me know when and for how long, i've had the service since the launch of it in 2002. The only exclusives i've missed from the ps/2 days were the twisted metal series and FF (i dont included that ff11 mmo crap as a game) and yes the mgs series. I started that back on Nintendo though. UT3's ability to have custom mods tho is a perk. You have seen and read it your self the other MGS games came to the xbox. Kojima was NOT appart of the porting team. He lead the lead development team on the ps2 then a sub group re-wrote the coding so it would read on the xbox. I've seen it done before so yes i am disregarding what he says. You act like MGS has never had a multi-cd game before.
