Since the HC position should be announced in the next few days I figured I would put in my 2 cents.

We hired a good OC coordinator who should be able to fix any problems with our O. Bear in mind we scored 30 points a game last year so there is not much to fix.

Now we are interviewing the following HC's:

Wade Phillips
Gary Gibbs
Norv Turner

What was the single thing that crippled us last year? DEFENSE.

Gibbs is a 4-3 guy
Why do we need Norv when we have Jason and our O is good already? We need to fix some OL problems but that is about it.

Only guy that makes sense is Wade Phillips.

Here is the biggest concern for me personally. It has been reported since BP left that the players lost respect in him and the play on the field backs that up.

After Norv left Oakland and Washington the same thing was reported about him.

Wade on the other hand has been respected in all his stops and the players play hard for him because he is aggressive.

Gibbs and Norv are passive and that is the last thing we need.

If Jerry passes on Wade it will be a big mistake.

Funny, everyone doubted Garrett's ability to be an OC last week. Now, since they are against Turner, Garrett all of the sudden has become a much better coordinator option and we need to go defense for HC.

I hope you're right. For whatever reason, every time the local media talks about the situation they say things like "I think he will be announced" or "I feel he is the frontrunner."

They're not reporting any sort of inside information. It's just pure speculation.

I didnt doubt Garrett, and think that this would be a great shot for him. Hmm my job is not to mess up what already works most of the time, and improve a couple of things here and there. OL again will be a concern early on but I dont discredit the hiring of Garrett at all.

No. At most the mob subsided because the rumors of him being HC died out. No one ever had a problem with him being offered the OC position.

The savy Cowboy fans knew Garrett was smart. We knew he was smart when he played for us. Just because some fans changed their minds about him lately doesn't mean that is everyone. I liked the move from day one and it is no secret Jerry had his sights on him this year. I questioned him being HC not OC.

His dad was a cowboy scout, he played for the team I mean what more do you want.

He has gotten some pretty high praise from others. In my opinion that is pretty conclusive that he won't be bad.

Considering that we just had a defensive minded coach and our defense is what everyone considers to be our problem, you'd think people would figure out that your head coach doesn't have everything to do with what is good on your team. DC is more important to our defense than the HC.

1)He was a back up QB. he was ok at that. he was never a coach in Dallas

2) He has testimonials but that's it. He was offered a college job and let go by Miami. Not much convincing me there.

3)What results? Kerry Collins and Joe Harrington?

I'm ok with him being the OC. I wont say he's a good hire because people personaly like him. He needs to prove himself.

But the thing is, they're house is so screwed up its embarrassing. I live here in MD. and get all the Foreskin news daily. Their HC doesn't talk to the OC, OC doesn't talk to their star RB, the entire staff and players hate their starting WR(Lloyd), Springs called the team "disfunctional", they're bumpin up against the cap, and they have just a few draft pics to work with.. How their fans come here and comment on our doings is beyond me.. Unbelievable!!!!!

You never give an opinion on any other team? Skinsand Terps brings some knowledge here. They had Norv there more recently than we did. What was your opinion on Norv as a head coach there?
