to me a player can miss one OTA, but not a weeks worth at least or more, unless he is injured;

??????

So Newman could just sit a day out for whatever reason. (no injury)

But Romo can't play golf on HIS time?

Am I still on Earth?

:lmao:

But Romo can't play golf on HIS time? Like how do you know if his time of flying to mexico do to a beauty pageant, flying back to do a OTA, then driving to do a us open, then driving back to to a OTA, how do you know that all of those distractions arent piling up on Romo, since he is 29 and not invincible like most young people think they are, that all of that is taking a toll on romo and by the end of the year, his energy level is down, thats the point im trying to make DC

he can play golf on his time, but not during OTAs, not more than once, if i was a owner of the cowboys and i am paying a QB so much money, 67 million in 5 years i believe, i want that player there, getting my team in commitment and priorities towards championships, not having another profession, it takes lot of time and dedication from what i understand about professional golf, you just dont go out there and play and get to some tournaments that romo was in;

but again, thats not my whole issue golf, its all the things together, all the distractions, the golf, the flying to mexico to judge a beauty contest, flying back to do a espn commercial, all the popparazza, etc, all that combined,

Am I still on Earth?

:lmao:

lol i said one day, but not more than that;

unless the player is hurt, but someone told me and best i remember i read it, newman was hurt somewhere too;

i want the first big commitment towards football, not some other profession,

Told ya Joe.

Once I heard Newman wasn't working at the OTA's today I knew he wasn't going to do this interview.

So TNew can make the PR rounds but can't make OTA's....:mad:

Another example of a player who got paid, and then dropped off big time. How many games will he miss this year because of injury... I never like it when Dallas gives big contracts to older players -- always seems to be a negative for the team.

I don't care what TNew says....he should do his talking on the field with his playing.

what a ridiculous post...watch the damn games dude, the guy is a premier CB, period.

well im hoping that the injury bug doesnt bite newman this year, and he has a super year;

we need him on the field with the inexperience we have now with scandrick and jenkins somewhat;

perhaps that's why he's not at OTAs? To stay as close to 100% as possible instead of getting beat down trying real hard in the off-season??

You just blew people's minds.

I mean, it's not as if Wade hasn't already come out and said that he'd be practicing if this were the regular season or anything....

Phillips has taken it easy both camps and Newman still has got hurt. This isn't about the work, it is about the player. Newman might be one of those tightly wound players as was stated earlier.

could be alexander, but im thinking like they said the field was was tough, so that might add to the deal legs and some injuries. I say wait and lets see what happens training camp and how newman plays then, he is still a very good player.

Where are the posts about Miles being so injury prone?

Meh, my guess is that they held these guys out just to be sure they could be ready for the full minicamps in a week or two because those are a lot more important. OTAs are more about some drills and running through plays in shorts. Minicamps are more like real football.

Something that Joe mentioned in the Archer thread and I tend to agree with. I think the turf on the field they're using is causing some of these issues.

Remember how we were hearing about people slipping all over the place? So, it may have something to do with that... as well as Newman possibly as wound up as one big muscle.

right woodys girl, i think todd archer touched on it too; something about the field archer said i think too, smoaky even brought up the issue in san antonio where someone had some kind of new field, to try. Emmitt Smith took like 2 steps on the field and said, im not playing on that,

you can listen to the audio above;

I guess that makes every NFL head coach a bum too, cause Wade isn't the only one that holds veterans out of ota's for minor dings. Every team does.

You must be the only real worthy candidate to lead this team. My gosh, just imagine our success!

:rolleyes:

I really hate using smileys, to me it defeats the purpose of the joke if you have to tell the audience, "just kidding," at the end.
