Maybe because the Saints used their FB differently than they had all year.
Maybe because the Saints threw to 3 or 4 different situational TE's like they hadn't done all year.
Maybe the Saints used an onside kick, up by 18 like they hadn't done all year because the Cowboys were sleeping on coverage.

I wish it did go both ways, but it didn't sunday. It was just obvious the Saints could almost predict what Dalas would do in alot of situations. Especially on defense. Zimmer got played all day.

Uh...you didn't understand my point. If you did, you would have known I placed the blame on the coaching.

Yeah, it's too bad we didn't know either Payton's or Gibbs' tendencies when they were pretty much taught by our coaching staff and we saw their tendencies everyday in practice for three years.

Why does this argument work one way, but never the other way?

Because not only did they have intimate knowledge of our players' strengths and weaknesses but obviously those of their own players... the people actually being asked to execute no matter how good plays might otherwise look just on paper.

We only knew about our own. How would we know about theirs when we arent in on their practices every day?

abandoned the running game because we fell behind, and even before that

I totally agree. We passed on just about every second down during that game. Even when we were down by 7 and 14 in the first half. Our running game was not being stopped, and yet we abandoned it way too soon. This would have kept that offense off of the field a lot more, and rested our defense. My take on the game was that our OC called the game too agressively. It seemed to me like we were trying to blow them out too early. Sometimes you just got to smash a teams defense with a power game before you go for the kill.
