As the play happened my mind automatically went to the thought that Heath was going to nail Rodgers and that Rodgers was going to fumble it and the Cowboys were going to recover it.

I thought all that in a split second. For a split second I thought the game was going to be essentially over.

9 times out of 10 that's a fumble.

Anybody else have that same epiphany on that play?

I thought "3rd and 20 and out of FG range, what could possibly go wrong"

My thought was, with that sack, we have a better chance at keeping them out of FG range. I was wrong.

Fumble would have been guaranteed if Heath had jarred his arm as well...

don't forget their first touchdown that went through lee's arms and around his helmet, or the time Rodgers handed off to Montgomery without actually having the ball and neither guy looking at it, and they didn't fumble

they got every break, played mistake free and barely won because of our incompetency

One thing I don't understand is why when you're coming blindside and the QB doesn't see do you NOT ATTACK the FOOTBALL. Who cares about the QB or the sack. The ball is everything. The ball is always there ready to be taken but more often than not players go for the QBs body and that just allows the QB to feel you and secure the ball before it comes out. If Heath attacks the football, balls out, and Dallas likely secures it in FG position. But because he attacked Rodgers body Rodgers was able to secure the ball with only a loss of 10 yards on the play.

VERY few guys in league that can hold onto the ball like that: Ben Rapelessburger, Carson Palmer, Rodgers and......I did see Wentz do that a couple times this year too. NO I'm not comparing him to the other QB's for crissakes. Just takes VERY strong hands to not cough that up. That play was one of about 15 that didn't go our way. We made virtually NO plays on D. Heath was our only playermaker. Chew on that for a second. That has to change next season.

I knew after Bailey nailed that field goal that those would be our last points this year .

Totally thought the same thing... reminded me of when we sacked Wentz from behind and he didn't fumble either.

Lol-- everything on D is earned the hardest way possible

yeah it seemed to go their way. the ball squeezing between lees ear and arm is incredible.

Yup, Packers this year are probably the weakest opponent Dallas will likely get in the divisional round for a long time. Shame they couldn't take advantage.
