Agreed. Season isn’t over by any means

But Philly, SF, LAC just got a lot harder to win
Philly yes, SF/LAC, their passing game never did scare me and still doesn't. 3 straight MNF games have seen a star player get hurt, maybe Hurts is next.... his name does seem to be asking for it.

Lol The Steelers had a great D-line that let the LBers do their thing. So did the Bears, so did the Ravens, so did the Bucs. Our D was off to a start like those teams you listed. After 2 games it's silly for you to be saying they are not a generational defense.
Have our linebackers done anything really after two games? What have either of them done? I haven’t heard Clark’s name mentioned once in two games.

At some point you need your linebackers to make splash plays.

This has nothing to do with being generational. Lbers?
It does.

Those teams had hard hitting linebackers who made big plays. Be it an interception, jarring hits or tackles for loss.

But what this team does have now is a deep safety room and that is long overdue.

Media needs to slow down about generational defense, they just beat two terrible offensive teams who have even worse offensive lines. Cowboys have a good, solid defense, but they won't be pitching any more shutouts this season.
I totally agree.

Those teams I mentioned won championships.

If the defense performs and is all world thats all it has to do. Whether they have great linebackers or not means nothing. Just because you think its an important ingredient? Cmon!!

LAC? Kellen might be the Interim HC by the time we play them. Staley sucks

What the Cowboys have done statistically in point differential has only happened 5 times in the Super Bowl era. It isn't simply a matter of playing bad teams.

Wait until you find out that this nfl isn’t the same as 1975
Exactly. A lot of the Cowboys lb snaps are going to safeties anyway. The main thing was being able to stop the run to get to 3rd down and the defense did a great job through two weeks.

I don’t think this defense was near generational. Even before the Diggs injury. And I base that on the linebackers. LVE and Clark are average at best.

Past generational defenses had outstanding linebackers in their lineup.

‘75 Steelers: Ham and Lambert

‘85 Bears: Singletary, Wilson and
Marshall

‘00 Ravens: Lewis and Boulware

‘03 Bucs: Quarles, Brooks and Rudd

Yesterday morning this defense was great.

Generational it was not.
That era was full of run stopping LB's because 90% of teams ran the ball over 50%-60% of their plays. Now 90% do not, big difference.

They beat up bad teams last year as well, especially early on after the TB loss. Need to see it against a better offense. With their tough schedule, we will find out, how good this unit really is.

Well Diggs is out for the year now so we'll never know how good the defense could have been this year at full strength. Hopefully the rest of the team can elevate their game.

Potentially still can be a very good defense, just hope they can continue to create turnovers without Diggs.
