Well...if that's the case...that Prescott is "pedestrian"...then Purdy, Allen and Stafford are as well. Prescott is just 2 tenths of a point behind Purdy, 1 tenth of a point behind Allen in QBR. Is Mahomes "pedestrian"? In spite of all his heroics he simply can't overcome his current crop of receivers and now he's putting the ball recklessly in harms way. He has 7 more INTS...is currently 8 points behind Prescott in QBR...and only has 46 more yards passing. Prescott tops him in almost every other metric this year.

What teams have a HoF caliber pocket passer like Montana or Brady? The Jets with Rodgers? Herbert, Lawrence, Stafford, Allen, Purdy? Mahomes is really the only guy that you could legitimately claim to be a first ballot HoFer...and even guys like him are limited in what they can do when talent around them gets thin...as we are seeing this year.

Jerry and his son Stephen aren't going anywhere. That's a moot point. In the end, you are stuck with McCarthy, who despite all else, has Prescott playing the best he has ever played. Not being able to run and stop the run consistently will be the undoing of Dallas this year. It's been on the wall since the beginning. Below average linebacker play and a weak stop gap solution at LT will further drag down the team.
Bingo. QB has reduced turnovers and given time can find receivers better

No run game , and stop theirs biggest problems to advance beyond past years

Also obvious ref inconsistency a killer

Dak plays extremely well when he has adequate time to throw the ball. He also makes more than a fair amount of plays under duress. It is hard for any QB to make plays when the left side of the line and Center all decide to block 1 DT.

Before the draft I said the Cowboys should get a QB and let him learn for a year behind Dak then let Dak walk. That got people fired up. So I asked this simple question, do you think Dak can win you a super bowl? If not, then what is keeping you from moving on.

The most popular answer was 'how do you know his replacement will win a super bowl'. That answer made no sense to me. You don't know that he will, but you also don't know that he won't.

If you don't think you can win a super bowl with the QB you have, why keep him and why pay him $50M+++ each year only to constrain your entire roster because of that deal? Grab a rookie and let's try again.

We all saw the revolving door of QB's after Aikman left. Suddenly you stop trying to get a QB that could win you that super bowl we have all been waiting for?

Quarterbacks don't win super bowls. Ever! Put Mahomes on Carolina, you think they win the SB this year? They don't even sniff the playoffs.

Is Garoppolo better than Aaron Rodgers? He got to the SB right through the Packers. The game wasn't even competitive. Why do you think that is?

Dak is a pedestrian quarterback...my top 15 but certainly not top 5. Like Romo, he will never will a Super Bowl. He cannot carry or will this team to victory like a Staubach, Montana or Brady. This team is not going anywhere for now and the foreseeable future. Don't extend Dak and rebuild...we have been rebuilding for the past 35 years. Again, we will not win the big games with Jerry running things, McCarthy coaching and Dak at QB...just my thoughts.
Dak reminds me of Danny White. Makes the playoffs just about every year and had nothing to show for it.

Are some people really blaming Dak for this loss??? Really?
This is what I don't understand. Dak leads a go ahead TD drive in the 4th quarter. The defense could not get a stop.

With the game on the line, Dak and the offense did their job. With the game on the line, the defense did not.

So the logical answer to so many is blame Dak........

The anti Dak bias is so strong. Can’t help themselves

already have the next QB.....
Trey Lance? The guy who couldn't make it work with better coaching and a better supporting cast in San Francisco?

The guy the Cowboys got for a 4th round pick????

Ask yourself this. If Lance is the quarterback of the future, why did the 49ers let us have him for so cheap? Any team in need of a QB could have offered them more than the Cowboys. Nobody did. NOBODY in the league felt he was worth giving up more than the 100-and-something pick for.

I’m loving Dak as a player right now.

What I will not like is if Dallas has to pay him tippy top dollar again.

It just kills our team doing that and isn’t worth it.

We desperately need a run game on the road.

At home we can still do what we do but on the road we need to be able to impose our will.

But here is the thing. Extending Dak long term actually makes him cheaper and helps the team long term. Add that to the steady cap increase and keeping him is not the roster build-killing move everyone thinks.

Cap space is a myth and can change literally in a day. Teams know how to write clauses and restructures into deals that prove to be win-win for both sides.

Look, I love Dak as human … he’s entertaining as a player and fun to watch, he is full of effort and says the right things always, he even has some really good to great moments playing quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys … but … he also hasn’t won anything meaningful in his 8 years here … this year he is 1 win in 4 tries against “good” teams and to be honest beating Philly isn’t exactly impressive bc they could easily be 4-5 losses worse than they sho, i think most agree. .

So my question is … why is everyone so afraid of trying a new QB? We had no choice to try one last year … and he went 5-1 … many just sit back & cry “but who replaces him, imagine if we had a better RB?” …. Like did y’all forget you ran Zeke out in favor of TP so yah we’ve not only imagined, but lived through trying a new Rb and YET ..lt’s the same results .., why so afraid to try a new QB?

What’s the big fear? Actually maybe winning?
Cooper rush didn't go 5-1. the team went 4-1. and the defense averaged 13.5 points per game. how many games you think we win this year if we averaged 13.5 on defense. lets get real. Rush led the 22nd ranked offense or worse in every statistical category. for the record bottom 12 offensive teams (scoring) didn't make the playoffs. that's were we ranked. so depending on luck is only going to go so far. the first team that scored more than 20 points on us, we lost the game. pretty bad.

and we should draft a QB every 3, 4 years in the first three rounds. its either a wasted pick. or we develop the next QB or we trade and recoup the pick.

If I'm reading this correctly, you sound like you're implying they should bench Dak for Rush.

In that case, no, the big fear isn't winning. The big fear is losing.

Cooper Rush has never won a game when the opponent scores more than 17 points. He was a FA after that great 5-1 and had no market. There are reasons for that.
deflection once again from Dak bots is so amusing

Only other offers were conditional round picks. Meaning they thought he may not even make their team.

You didn’t answer the question… what are you afraid of? What’s worse than already not winning a Super Bowl every year?

Why are you afraid to even TRY and line one up?
Dak puts us in a position to win a super bowl every year.

Staying with him and tweaking the roster gives us a better chance than starting over. 27 teams would kill to be in our position. We have had the #1 offense for 3 years.

The real problem is the culture is soft. We need some nasty interior DL and LB’s. Those are easier to acquire than a Mahomes or Jackson.

Don’t be dumb man.
