There was nothing wrong with the game plan, Vinny came in and won with that game plan. Henson after being away for 3 years at that time was not ready and had no business being on the field. I know many fans and Jerry wanted to see him but he was not ready. Heck it normally takes a bit of time for most rookies coming right out college and Henson was further behind than your avg. rookie QB. He needed to sit and learn while continuing to work on his game. That did not happen I do think it had a negative effect on him.

No way, Vinnie came in and they opened the offense completely up. You are not remembering that game very well at all.

I was at that game and yes I do remember it very well. Henson was not ready, was the game plan fairly simple yes and yet he still looked confused and was late on his passes and you talk about opening it up? He was not ready he needed to sit the entire season and learn. When he signed with Dallas even his agent was talking about how Dallas planned to bring him along very slowly

A simple gameplan makes it very easy to defend, especially whgen dealing with a rookie QB and a good D like Chicago has. They never had to worry about the passing game with that gameplan period. They just brought the house.

Sorry I disagree, Henson hung on to the ball to long he was late with his throws. The differance was when Vinny came in his he looked guys off he was quicker with the release of his passes and knew exactly where his targets where. No wounder it look like 2 different game plans.

Several coaches have said that Henson just cannot football think in action. He cannot make the mental adjustments fast enough.

He just hasn't had enough reps. At this pace, by age 53 he should be there mentally.

I would not be suprised at all to see Henson shake out as the starter from that bunch, which would not be saying a whole lot, but.....

If there is one situation where he could win out, Minnesota is it.

I for one hate the way Bill put him in a game and then yanked him. I thought it should have been his shot for at least the next few games. Let him sink or swim. Deion should stick to the pulpit.

I remember how everyone boo'ed old Vinnie when he started the 2nd Half of that game.

Vinnie really knew how to bring out the hate in people.

But Dallas released him last summer.

Sanders gives him a pass in Dallas.

"I don't think the offense was good. I don't think the team was good. He was in a bad situation," Sanders says. "People who know the game of football will say, "Forget Dallas, period. That don't even count.'

"What he went through in Dallas, I wish no quarterback to go through, especially a young quarterback."

I couldn't care less about Henson, but the Sanders' quote is bizarre.

Henson is going to be lucky to make that squad at all. Jackson has already won the starting job.

Since I actually agree with abersonc, I'm going to go drown myself in the pool now. Goodbye forever.

And speaking of drowning, there's a greater chance of me drowning in a teaspoon of water than Henson winning a starting a job anywhere. This is a guy that didn't even look mediocre in NFL Europe.

As I recall he looked pretty good considering the O-line was subpar and the WR's were awful.

Pretty much the case on all NFLE teams across the board. The good QBs who make quick decisions can still manage to showcase their talents despite that fact. Henson just sucks. Time to forget that era.

And if you thought Henson looked pretty good, it might be time for LASIK surgery.

Chad Hutchinson was very unimpressive in NFL Europe.

Drew Henson wasn't particularly impressive in NFL Europe.

So totally out of context -- I was talking about respecting GROUPS of people -- you can slam an individual as an individual but when you use a group characteristic to make fun of someone you are disrespecting an entire group.

But you don't understand context obviously.

I understand the context perfectly. You really need to drop the whole "I'm smarter than everyone else" attitude, it's a fallacy, especially when you're addressing me (since I'm obviously more intelligent than you).

Let's break this down into simple terms that you can understand. You either abide by a philosophy or you do not. Beliefs aren't only applicable when it's convenient for them to be. Without individuals, you can't have groups. If you make derogatory remarks about a group, it affects the individuals that comprise said group, does it not? Why yes, it certainly does. If you make derogatory remarks about an individual, you're insulting a member of a group because every individual has to belong to a group. Thereby, you've indirectly insulted said group by proxy. By that logic, you're a hypocrite.

You lose.
