Henson Era Over!

Nothing is done in Dallas unilaterally.

The owner has said it. The head coach has said it.

I suppose that is too hard to grasp as well. It is easier to pick one to blame rather than hold the entire organization responsible. Everyone needs a scapegoat or a hero.

I think the point is, IF nothing is done unilaterally, then obviously Parcells is, in fact privy to the situation. Some people would prefer it if he didn't lie. I'm in that camp on this one.

I'm interested in hearing JJ's reasoning behind the situation. Afterall, Henson was his guy. ;) It's strange that a guy who likes to talk has virtually said nothing. I think he's a little disappointed and possibly deferred to BP on this one.

After Quincy and Hutch, we should be *friggin exstatic* that Jerry is deferring to Bill on picking a QB.

I don't even care anymore. It was never gonna happen here, that much is evident now, and it is Henson's fault. So, I wish him well. Parcell's word, OTOH, is pretty much worthless IMO now. So, I'll listen to his PCs simlpy for the entertainment value.

Go back to the question and how it was answered:

"I’m really not at liberty to discuss the situation because I’m not privy to that information. He’s not going to be on our roster. That’s all you need to know.

When someone says "not at liberty" that basically is a cue to me that they do know, yet choose, for whatever reason, not to disclose information.

That has nothing to do with him saying he was not part of the decision. He answered this specifically when pressed for details about a potential trade.

He may have had nothing to do with the trade talks, negotiations for his contractual settlement or anything else. That would be up to Jerry and Stephen Jones.

So how exactly is he lying? He may not have details, which was how the question was posed.

I have to admit Nors was right on Romo over Henson all along. I am stunned at the trade value we got for Shanle - Shocked.

Interesting that you agree with someone who hasn't posted here in Months when you joined less than 2 weeks ago :)

Agree.....BP might have said "no way that guy is gonna be on my team, you guys do what you need to do to get rid of him". Then let Jerry and Stephen figure out how to make it happen. BP might not know anything about how they dumped the body

I can't even find the question, now. I see what you're saying, though, about the trade. I think the way the article was posed made it seem like Parcells was passing the buck on making the decision. Appreciate the clarification. I'm still puzzled on how we went from "Henson has as long as it takes, he's a project" to "He won't be with the team this year" in a few days, unless Drew went ape **** today. So, we'll see what comes out.

If you were listening to Parcells and expecting anything more than manipulation, half-truths, well-crafted motivational messages to his players and outright messing with the media, the problem is yours, not his.

Seriously, you sound actually disappointed that Bill doesn't play straight with the media. I refuse to buy this is some sort of revelation to you.

Grim analogy.

But that might be pretty accurate.

Capone never knew what the underlings did. It could have been sleeping with the fish, made into dog food. Sometimes you just don't know.

ok. I trusted when he said Drew was not in danger of losing his job. When he said that he would wait on Drew as long as he had to. I realize these statements can mean anything, and I'll be pollyanna if you want, but I figured he was being truthful there.

They don't have Tony Soprano on the staff for nothing

Maybe its due to the fact when the roster is evaluated the decision has to be made who is expendable or more valuable. This may indicate there is alot of talent on this team. There probably will be some good players they won't be able to keep on the roster in the next few weeks as it scales down. Good thing it sounds like Flozell Adams will be ok for regular season.

He's talked up guys on more than one occasion a week before cutting them.

What Bill says to the media has no bearing on anything. Never has, never will.

I'm personally fine with that. If his methods get even one guy to bear down and play harder than he would have otherwise, the media (and I suppose us by extention) can go f itself.

I firmly believe that Bill meant what he said at the time. I have a feeling that something went on behind the scenes last night to change his mind. The way he said that "Henson will not be on our 53 man roster" made me think he wanted to add "come hell or high water". This is not a conspiracy theory per se, I just think that the way it all came down and the way it was reported was a little strange. I suspect...and this is ONLY as suspicion...that Henson and Parcells had a confrontation of some sort after practice yesterday and caused this to escalate.
