I just saw the last Fire game and I'll tell you, Henson's made me a Fire fan. And it's all because of Henson's play. The guy played with a lot of moxy and turned two busted plays into TD's. He had full command of his team and the game. He dictated to the defense all game!

Henson's last two TD passes came off off roll-outs after the pocket collapsed. The first was impressive in that Hensen rolled right and threw to the inside of the WR in the end-zone, after he baited the DB to go outside. And just when I thought that might be a fluke, later in the game he rolls left and threads the needle betwrrn TWO defenders who are rushing him and on the opposite side of the DB who had the WR covered inside.

All I can say is WOW! I can't wait to see Henseon in action again in the next fire Game. hensen is making his rookie head coach look like a genius!

Go Fire/Hensen!!!

That was my sentiment exactly after that play. I mean, I said that when I saw the replay and where and how he threw that ball for TD, since at first it seemed a like a damn good play, but it turned into a wow when I saw the replay.

I feel the same way. I really like their two rbs as well.

Henson has really impressed me as well. Watching him play, it is uncanny how eerily similar to Aikman he is. He is calm and efficient. Has great accuracy and decent mobility.

I am not interested in drafting a qb anymore.

Yeah, I'm not interested in drafting a QB either any more. I'd be very comfortable going into the 2006 season with Hensen and Romo (perhaps in that order) as the backups to Bledsoe.

Henson is the only reason I'm watching those boring NFL Europe games.

I like this thread.

I like how the NFLE jerseys have the logo of the NFL team the player is allocated from at the neckline. Be a fun jersey to have.

Although I agree that the first TD was impressive, isn't throwing across your body, across the field a big no - no? I'm wondering if that's the type of play BP would chew him out for if it were the regular season. W/ that said, sometimes you have to go against convention and make plays, which he did throughout the game.

The thing that impressed me most was his composure. Though he won't rush for many yards, he's shown good mobility and escapability to not take a loss on a play.

The one negative (a minor one) I've noticed from this game is that he's nearly gotten his RBs killed on a few occasions. I'm not sure what the problem is, whether he's not getting them the ball quickly enough or he's getting the ball to them too quickly not letting them roam in space long enough. W/ the speed of our backs, I'd like to see them be utilized in the passing game a bit more.

Overall, I am thrilled w/ the progress he's making. He IS our #2. He's distanced himself from Romo in experience IMO.

....and we may finally have a QB that can roll out in the redzone. I've always been a fan of the rollout inside the twenty. It seems to break down the coverage a bit b/c the DBs are caught in no man's land deciding whether they should play the scrambling QB or stay w/ the TE or WR.

I'm pleased with how Henson's played in NFLE, and I'm one of his biggest supporters, but let's not get carried away here, gang... he's played 4 games over there, in two of them he played pretty well, in two of them he was mediocre to bad...

He hasn't exactly dominated that league (though some of that is because his OL and WRs aren't particularly good), his completion percentage is still a hair under 60 per cent, and his yards per attempt average isn't that impressive either... let's remember, it's a big jump in talent level from that league to the NFL... I seem to remember that James Whalen, Jeremaine Copeland and Duane Hawthorne all kicked major butt in their time over in Europe, but none of them went on to NFL greatness, did they??

Don't get me wrong, I'm reasonably pleased with his play so far, and as I said, I think his numbers would be better if his receivers didn't drop so many flippin' passes, or his offensive line gave him a little more time in the pocket. But there's a long way to go yet, and I'd like to see a little more consistency in his performance than I've seen to date... thus far, he's been up and down like your average everyday yo-yo...

Some of the things I've particularly liked is his mobility when escaping the pass rush, and just one interception in 86 pass attempts...

Don't forget Keith Davis was NFLE Defensive MVP, I believe... Correct me if I'm wrong.

Reading this thread (which I started :D ) it's very evident that Henson has energized a great deal of Cowboys fans. Before his stint in NFLEL I was cautiously and blindly hopefull that he would improve with time because no real evidence existed that he would improve. But now we're starting to see it. And it's not a a good series here or a good pass there; it's Henson taking over a game - controlling a game - dictating to a defense, and doing it with consistency. Yes, he has energized us fans. I'd be interested in hearing Cowboys coaches' and management's perspective on his recent development also.
