Henson's made me a Fire fan

I just saw the last Fire game and I'll tell you, Henson's made me a Fire fan. And it's all because of Henson's play. The guy played with a lot of moxy and turned two busted plays into TD's. He had full command of his team and the game. He dictated to the defense all game!

Henson's last two TD passes came off off roll-outs after the pocket collapsed. The first was impressive in that Hensen rolled right and threw to the inside of the WR in the end-zone, after he baited the DB to go outside. And just when I thought that might be a fluke, later in the game he rolls left and threads the needle betwrrn TWO defenders who are rushing him and on the opposite side of the DB who had the WR covered inside.

All I can say is WOW! I can't wait to see Henseon in action again in the next fire Game. hensen is making his rookie head coach look like a genius!

Go Fire/Hensen!!!

Let's see him try that against NFL DB's....I bet it is a different result.

You really would like to see him fail wouldn't you?

I could honestly careless if he fails or suceeds. I just don't think he has the talent for the NFL as a startin QB. Big difference betweent NFLE and NFL. I refused to get geeked up over his NFLE play. If he was doing this in preseason games then I would raise an eyebrow.

But yeah, while he made a great play, throwing across your body on the run is a no no and you will get eaten alive in the NFL trying that crap. So while it was a good play in NFLE, it would have been a INT in the NFL. I don't understand what the blind love for this guy is.

The good thing about this is, he has 6 more games to gain experience. And then hopefully he can carry that experience into another training camp and preseason. And it's good we're not counting on him to be anything more than a backup this year either. He keeps working and I think he'll be our #2 this year and who knows for 2007 if he improves more.

It's good to see the positive responses. The kid just needed (and still needs to of course) to play football games. He's proving himself a gamer at the very least.

haha. I could care less about the Rhein Fire. As long as I get to see how well Hensen performs, I'm good to do. I don't even care if they lose ... as long as Hensen shows progress and leadership ability.

You think he's gonna give Romo a run for the backup job???

No one said you had to get geeked up but making comments about him failing when there is no evidence one way or the other of how he will develop seems to indicate your more interested in seeing him fail. As for the differance I agree that NFLE is pretty much like NFL pre-season football where you see 2dn and 3rd string players on the field because that is what all of these guys are 2nd and 3rd string players on NFL teams.

I do and I think it was a mistake that Romo did not go to NFLE as well. Face it Romo has not seen action in the NFL either. I think if Henson can come out of NFLE without injury he will have a real chance to take over the backup job.

Reading this thread (which I started :D ) it's very evident that Henson has energized a great deal of Cowboys fans. Before his stint in NFLEL I was cautiously and blindly hopefull that he would improve with time because no real evidence existed that he would improve. But now we're starting to see it. And it's not a a good series here or a good pass there; it's Henson taking over a game - controlling a game - dictating to a defense, and doing it with consistency. Yes, he has energized us fans. I'd be interested in hearing Cowboys coaches' and management's perspective on his recent development also.

It has been very quiet at Valley Ranch in regards to Henson's performances.

No it wasn't about seeing him fail it was the fact that that play 9 out of 10 times if going to be a INT in the NFL. Why praise him for that?

The same argument could be made in the opposite direction. Now that he's got a bit more experience under his belt, let's see the kid perform with a set of all-pro receivers (who can actually get separation and catch the d#*m ball), a serious running game threat, and an O-Line that gives him the time to throw (would that our boys go into this season with all three).

All I'm saying is that this kid is playing the cards he's dealt, and he's been consisitently improving with each passing game. Regardless of the people around him on both sides of the field, you can see that he is improving.

Whether it is enough to carry the day at the NFL level, I'm sure none of us really know. The coaches, I'm certain, have a better idea than any of us, and something tells me that they are not going to share their evaluation notebooks with the press.

I remain cautiously optimistic. This kid has done everything that has been asked of him since he got here, and by volunteering for NFLE, has gone above and beyond. It still escapes me why certain fans on this board seem to have a severe case of Schadenfreude for this guy - he's on our team, folks.

Elway and Faurve did alright throwing "that crap" across their bodies.

Henson has showed improvement each game. This last game he looked sharp and on top of the game. All you Henson haters need to back off, cause the guy is winning his place. He looks to be the favorite to replace Bledsoe.

As a fan, I just do not understand this type of reasoning. How could you not care if a member of the team for which you root every season suceeds or fails?

If you extend this attitude to every member of the team, you are not truly a fan ... more of an "ambiv."

:lmao2: Henson = Elway/Farve? :lmao2: :lmao:

What is funny is the TO haters are in full effect but yet he can't get a break for anything and he has actually PERFORMED at the NFL level. I am sorry but you don't see a lot of guys comign from NFLE to the NFL and being starting QB's with lots of success. I belive the next QB is not even on the team yet.

Your not truly a fan if you don't do X, Y, and Z. Your not a fan if you dont' follow my way of thinking.... Get off if it.

Right now he has not shown he can lead an NFL team. He is the third string QB. When he starts competing for the starting job then I will care. Right now he is a non factor for this coming season.

Those like myself have only been down on TO because of his action not his play. As for Henson he is doing what he has to do to develop in the end what he does in NFLE will have little meaning in the big picture how he comes back to the Cowboys and performs this pre-season will clearly mean a lot more

Sorry, sacase, but caring whether individual members of a team succeed or fail seems to be a primary tenet of fandom. Not "my way of thinking" - simply logical fact.

I disagree with you here. You have to care about everyone on the Depth Chart, as at anytime they could become starters.

Case in point:

Chicago, Jets, Rams, etc. Also Remember our OL last year? We delved the depth char there as well, didn't we? So you should hope that all of our depth is found capable and beyond.

and as I said, I think his numbers would be better if his receivers didn't drop so many flippin' passes,

Oh ya "think" so huh? Boy, nothing slips your remarkable analytical skills.
