He's not alone. Wasted careers of many around here and yes it starts 100% with the owner but these coaches like Garret are to blame too. Last real chance we ever had was with Parcells and sadly a freak dropped snap on a FG ended that. It's been almost 20 years since that play, I repeat almost 20 years since that play, wow, where does the time go.

I was in 7th grade at the time.

You can say this about any top tier all pro Cowboy since 1995. If they didn't win the big one their career is disappointing. Same with Dan Marino and a few others. Yes, Jerry screwed up. It just seems worse now because he started out hot as a owner/GM and it turned bad later. Any other GM would have been fired years ago. PS. Cowherd is stating the obvious. Like saying if it rains does it get wet outside. Geez.

Tyron Smith has had a very notable and credible career with the Cowboys! How can that legitimately be considered a wasted one? Please!

He played 13 games last season only giving up 2 holding penalties and 1 false start with 3 sacks allowed. 2nd team All Pro. People are relying on his health not being up to scratch, however if he plays a similar number of games to that level he will be a huge loss.

Or maybe he stuck with Dallas for money? I totally understand that Jerry and spawn aren't interested in winning championships and have certainly wasted careers. But how many have stuck with Dallas just for the money? Ware wanted to win and had to leave to get it, why don't others on the team do the same? Dak probably realizes Dallas is the only place that will pay him obnoxious money for essentially doing nothing, so why pack up and leave?
Nah, not in this situation. TS would have made a LOT more money elsewhere.

If that's the case I have a hard time believing a career was wasted. Especially if this person chose to stay with a franchise they have known their entire career wasn't interested in championships.

How again is a HOF career wasted ? A bust in Canton certainly isn’t how I’d describe or define a wasted career.

Only fans who’s talking point is winning a championship or bust mentality. Everyone suks if they don’t hoist a Lombardi. Lol

Is every good player supposed to win rings? Just not how it works, only one team wins a ring per year so there's going to be good players left out unless they go ring chasing (which he might do now)
Dan Marino went to the SB his rookie year and lost but more importantly never went back to the big dance again and he was a superstar qb in his own right. You are correct they can't all get a ring.

Of course they did. It’s what Jerry and his dingbat kid do. Part of it is still Tyron’s fault cause you gotta make the decision to leave when that contract is up.

For you short cutters who didn't watch the video....

He spoke about a "wasted career" as it relates to post-season success vs individual accomplishment.

But you still have 2 complete turds running football operations. It’s not about just hoisting a trophy. It’s about management doing everything they can to be able to someday hoist that trophy. Having actual football acumen and accountability. That doesn’t always result in championships, but with these 2 clowns you already know how it will go. They owe their players more than that.

Where's Colin been? Jerry has wasted the careers of the past three decades of Cowboys players in his experiment of trying to win a SB his way. But let's keep doing this, maybe it will be different this year. Some fans here have such a low bar for Jerry, they think he has nothing to be ashamed of. SMDH.....

Other teams waste careers of great players, but very few do it for a Jason Garrett experiment at QB, right after a decade long experiment at HC in Jason Garrett..

How many other teams have players that this can be said about....oh, it is not Dallas players, so who cares.

Our own fans love this type of stuff.
It's how Cowherd, Stephen A Smith, and Skip Bayless make their living. All 3 use Cowboys' fans to pump up their ratings.
