I can understand that some players may not like the new diggs. Like Sarge said, people do hate change.

And yeah, the coverage has been over the top.

Morning Winky... ;)

Trash journalism as usual. I haven't read ESPN.com since the last Werder witch hunt of TO.

I want sports news, not sports rumors.

I have never been to either rfk or fedex. I always wanted to go to rfk.

I have been to the meadowlands and the vet. Not the linc though.

I loved Texas Stadium. It was old and beat up and perfect for football.

My first of mnay trips to Texas Stadium was in 94. Loved that old run down place.

Ed Werder of ESPN reports on Sports Center that some Dallas Cowboys players aren't entralled with their new stadium. In fact Werder reports some Cowboys preferred Texas Stadium better. Per the report, one player said he feels they are in the entertainment business instead of playing football.

Good grief, this guy is such a hack.

I bet that player would be pissed if the Cowboys were relegated to playing on some vacant lot somewhere for no money.

Cuz it's all about the game, right?

I prefer the old stadium too. It was old, it smelled, the roof was falling apart....perfect for nfc east football.

The people in the pro shop knew what a media guide was.

I will say this though about werder, He has been on espn 1033 all week defending the cowboys and saying how he thinks Dallas is every bit as talented as NY and that he thought we will win. He also got into some heated debates about why he would take romo over manning.

I dont doubt that some of the players said this though, some people and players just have an old school thought process and like things a certain way. Like myself.

Good post. And like Sarge said, most things aren't unanimous. There's always going to be someone who doesn't like it. That's natural.

It wouldn't surprise me if a handful of players are still sore over Werder's comments about Terrell Owens and decided to jerk his chain by giving him anti-stadium opinions.

It's Ed Werder, and the Cowboys have largely been quiet since shipping TO to Buffalo.

What do you expect the day of a big game? His "sources" are probably about as reliable as a General Motors promise.

Bet it wasn't, Romo, who wasn't enthralled with Werder's haircuts!! ;)

Who's surprised?

Little Eddie won't get his Christmas bonus from Corporate if he doesn't run at one least anti-cowboys piece stirring up controversy during the season.

Honestly, I wouldn't be too suprised as some of the Cowboys who played in the Cotton Bowl made similar comments about Texas Stadium.

If true, they will eventually get use to it :).

When they first announced the building of Texas Stadium I thought I might like to go to a game there until they announced that parking would cost more that the game tickets at the old Cotton Bowl and that game tickets would be six times higher, my interest waned and then when confronted about the huge increase in prices, Tex Schramm said "Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public." I suddenly lost all interest and never attended any game at TS.

I have no desire to attend a game at the new stadium. I would rather invest the money in gold or diamonds which retain their value well and I can't imagine that a used ticket stub would have much value. Let's face it, people are paying hundreds of dollars here to watch the game on a big TV set.

I really hope they enjoy it after enduring all that is attendant to going to a game these days but it's not for me.

Why would any player, personnel, staff, answer one question from this *** if they appreciate and are loyal to the organization?

I think the organization should have the right to control who it allows access to and should use it - but I get that they don't think its worth it.

On an opening day this huge, that we get to hear crap like this about the team and stadium is insane. If he wasn't there, the story wouldn't be either.

That people still talk this *** is a sign that while the locker room is much more solid, its not there yet.

It's not inconceivable that one or two players are miffed about having to walk through a phalanx of drunken fans to get to the field.

I would say we are different with our views of "value". Everything you mentioned above was material items. There is something else to me that holds more value...."Memories"

There is nothing like the memories at being at a Cowboys game. Those memories to me hold more value than anything material.

As far as I know, I only live once, and I'm going to take everything in that life has to offer and not over analyze every little thing that I do.

I respect your view, we are just different.
