It's not inconceivable that one or two players are miffed about having to walk through a phalanx of drunken fans to get to the field.
That's a good point, but the only difference between now and before is that any intoxicated fans are situated closer now than before. Players have always had to deal with drunken idiots.

I never saw a game in Texas Stadium much to my regret. However, I have seen many Boys-Skins games at RFK & Fed Ex Field. No comparison. RFK was a GREAT place to see a ballgame. You could walk to and from the stadium from the subway making it easy to get in and out. The upper decks shook more than they showed on TV; it was kind of scary, like being on a concrete mini-trampoline. The crowd was LOUD! Nothing better than mid third quarter when you saw mostly blue and white colors. :D

When, I first went to Fed EX, I shook my head and said "This is it?"

from what I understand the same can be said for the transition from the Vet to the Linc.....The Eagles have seemed to have lost some of their mystique with the new stadium....well at least the fans dont seem as violent and unruly.

it's only a matter of time before a fan throws a bottle at a player during a loss causing a shard to stab through the victims neck.

No, I really do. there were a couple of adults working in the texas stadium pro shop. I buy a media guide at the first home preseason game every year. Sometimes I had to ask for them and they always had them and knew right where they were.

I was on vacation this year and missed the preseason, so I went up there a couple of days ago to get one. All of the employees are teenage girls. I had 6 girls at the checkout look at me like I was crazy, THey said they dont sell media guides and have never heard of them. Then they acted like I was the strange one.

I am bitter about it. THere are two adults working in the pro shop in the parks mall down the street. They told me they were out of them and might not have them again till october but to keep checking back.

Anyway. That pro shop is like going into an abercrombie and fitch. Its really annoying.

Like I said, I loved everything about texas stadium. I will adjust, but it will never be the same.

:laugh2: ... decrying the fact that the new stadium has teenage girls working in the pro shop...? I don't know how many career professionals there are in sports apparel, but it's the same as everywhere else.

And the fact that a teenage girl or seven didn't know what a media guide was shouldn't really be all that appalling.

It's not really ruining your game day experience over, is it? And if they were out of them, well life goes on. I'm sure you won't lose any sleep over this...
right??

Uh, this ain't Philly or Landover or East Rutherford or Cleveland. The fans in Dallas are usually well behaved...in fact, often too well behaved from what I've been told (from opposing fans as well).

I'm sure Dallas fans are no strangers to booing and cursing, especially when you add booze to the mix. I'm not worried about physical violence or anything like that.

You don't think the players couldn't hear the boos and curses at Texas Stadium?

Here's what probably happened, knowing how Mr. Blue Suit operates:

MBS: So, whaddya think of the new stadium?

'Anonymous Source': It's pretty amazing, certainly different from your old school stadiums.

MBS: Whaddya mean?

AS: Well, the old stadiums didn't have this gigantic videoboard hanging above the field. It's like we're movie stars

MBS (writing up his script and combing his moustache): COWBOYS PLAYER HATES THE NEW STADIUM. SAYS IT'S LIKE THEY ARE IN THE ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS INSTEAD OF THE FOOTBALL BUSINESS!

Well, seeing as how Ed was completely vindicated by TO's eventual banishment, and seeing as how no one believes Jerry's lame cover story for said banishment, I don't see any reason to question his veracity vis-a-vis this report.

They are upset with the new stadium because they think they are in the entertainment industry now? I mean even before you consider the difference must be like between this year and last its kinda like wth business did you think you were in before?

I mean if he didnt want to be watched by millions from time to time then maybe he should have gone into plumbing. Quite frankly, Dallas is not an easy place to play and some are just too weakminded to handle it.

Owens was accused of being jealous or Romo and Witten's relationship. This was never confirmed in any matter or form. In fact, according to Albert Breer who spoke to a Cowboys official, they didn't see Owens as being a distraction on purpose, but being a distraction no matter what he did and that's why they got rid of Owens.

I guess you're forgetting that Mr. Blue Suite reported that Parcells was going to retire after '03, then '04, then '05 (but he eventually got it right on his 4th try) or that he reported Keith Davis died or that he reported that Owens was crying after the Bengals game in '08 because he wanted the ball more (reality was a close family member passed away earlier that week) or that he reported that Owens tried to commit suicide because he couldn't deal with Parcells as his head coach back in '06 with the accidental overdose.

Nope, no reason to question the veracity of his reports. Not at all.

Ed Werder of ESPN reports on Sports Center that some Dallas Cowboys players aren't entralled with their new stadium. In fact Werder reports some Cowboys preferred Texas Stadium better. Per the report, one player said he feels they are in the entertainment business instead of playing football.

Personally, I feel that way too. I haven't commented on the stadium, the roof, the jerrytron or anything related to the new stadium for that very reason. Let's play some football and perhaps even start a "stadium zone" so I don't have to look at all of these threads.

I get it, we're playing somewhere different. But there's entirely too much emphasis on the stadium this year.

I can attest to the stupidity of the people in the pro shops. I was at one of the satellite shops trying to a buy a friggin' flag. It didn't have a price on it, but it was ringing up $2.99. The salesman kept saying that price was wrong. So they spent 10 minutes looking through the system to find a flag price that was $5.99.

So I asked the guy, "I bring you an item, it rings up for a certain price, you want to charge me double just because you think it should be priced higher, and you think that I'm going to actually pay you for this now?" I thanked him for wasting my time and turned and walked off.

I understand that EVERYONE is new to the job since it's a new stadium. But holy cow they hired some idiots at this place.

It's everywhere, not just at the pro shop....walmart, MCDonald's, everywhere.

I prefer the old stadium too. It was old, it smelled, the roof was falling apart....perfect for nfc east football.

The people in the pro shop knew what a media guide was.

I will say this though about werder, He has been on espn 1033 all week defending the cowboys and saying how he thinks Dallas is every bit as talented as NY and that he thought we will win. He also got into some heated debates about why he would take romo over manning.

I dont doubt that some of the players said this though, some people and players just have an old school thought process and like things a certain way. Like myself.

Me too.
