Since Jerry is the final say in Cowboy country, he needs to start this accountability train:

Please announce that the remainder of the season all coaches, players, towel/ball boy positions will be evaluated.

Make no bones about it and win or lose you better show up and play with heart. If this team fails then serious adjustments need to be made.

I know you cannot cut the whole team, but if the lack of effort contuinues some big names/pay checks need an exit.

Thats most of you guys problem.

If it isn't announced to the world than you think nothing is going on.

Jerry and Wade can be as ho hum as they like to the Fans/Media as long as it aint ho-hum behind closed doors.

Now go 2nd guess our backup QB situation or tell us how Stewart needs to be fired and Jason Garrett sucks without Romo.

You make an odd reply to my thread?

When did Jerry make these announcements behind close doors, since your response indicates your inner working knowledge of the ranch?

I am only a lowly speculator and lack the keen inner knowledge/insight you have OB1.

This team needs some serious adjustment regardless of how the rest of the season plays out.

It could be reasonable to think nothing is going on given their ho hum body language in their performance Sunday!

I never said he did or didn't.

I just said he doesn't need to come out and announce it so you could be happy.

And just because Jerry or Wade say ANYTHING publicly doesn't make it true if you haven't learned that by now.

Whether it worked or not, Coughlins' job was openly reviewed last year by ownership.

Why not? Ultimately, the team should be held accountable to its fans--who ultimately pay the bills. The fans should know what steps are being taken to turn this sinking ship around. Just like today, people are supposed to be holding the politicians accountable........

Oh my.

Yeah because thats how all great organizations work. Everything is spilled and leaked out to the fans.

Especially Cowboys fans who are probably the most idiotic fans in sports.

He does have that gazillion dollar stadium to pay for during an economic downturn--you might think he would try to show a modicum of competence to the fan base--or wait, did the taxpayers already cover that stadium?

Jerry will do what ever it takes to build a winner. That much is obvious.

I just think most of you had to find out the hard way what happens when you lose a Top 5 NFL QB and have absolutely nada behind him.

The game is all about the Quarterback.

Fair enough, but doing whatever it takes in Jerry's mind, doesn't appear to be producing much success right now. When casual fans can see the problems with the team long before the coaches and management then you know there is something very wrong. Who here had confidence in BJ being able to carry this team for more than a game?

Jerry needs someone else to tell him what to do to build a winner, because he doesn't get it and this coaching staff doesn't have the answer either.....

Normally I'm not big on kneejerk reactions, but I'm totally on board with this.

Might not make a shred of difference, but hey...

The only people reaction like this will have an effect on is the coaches. The high priced players are not going to be afraid of getting cut because Jerry is not stupid enough, as you'd hope no owner would be, to simply eat a huge cap hit just to make a point.

That, my friends, is stupid.

So what do you really have to leverage with? Firing the coaching staff? They probably know that is coming at seasons end anyway.

Not resigning someone like Spears or Canty? Oh yeah that will sure teach them and put some fear into these players.

Maybe we could cut Tank Johnson right now. That would REALLY make those high priced players quake in their cleats.

Please.

There is no way to intimidate a team by cutting a player of consequence if they have a big deal already in place. No owner, or team, in their right minds (which means Oakland is the only place that this could possibly happen), are simply going to eat a huge cap hit just to say to a team "See? See what I just did?"

I guess BB & the patriots havent used this concept around NE?
You missed the point anyway, the true evaluation of the roster is needed.

Those with talent playing half-hearted should be removed regardless, otherwise you continue this pattern of accepting quitting and defeat.

Fans such as you are misguided in my opinion. You feel that waiting for the creme to rise to the top approach is best for this team. If this team continues its lack of heart approach what use is the roster filled full of skilled players?

Which high priced player did the Patriots and Bill cut that wrecked their cap?

Oh, yeah, I remember. They didn't. The only reason that works for them is cause Brady and Moss are the only guys on the entire team that make any huge contract money.

Now if you want to say that Jerry should not give out big contracts, and instead every year should let FA's on this team walk, and simply replace them then you might have something.

Then you could cut people who under perform cause they're not going to be crushing your cap.

Cutting any players, of significance, here would pretty much wreck ours unless of course you're idea is to make an example out of someone who hasn't signed a big deal here yet.

If that's the case who would you cut to make that example out of that is honestly going to do much more than raise an eyebrow?

Two totally different structures between the Pats and the Cowboys and that works for the Pats cause they don't pay anyone so they always have lots of guys playing for much cheaper than most guys on other teams.

Who ever said high priced players?

My point was those players that dont give the effort needed to win games.

***** footing around and being afraid to make tough decisions is not the route we need. Look at the effort this season and think about how we finished the last few years.

How can you sit there and assume the same approach is ok?

Einstein stated it best: Insanity doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results

Jerry needs to keep out of it. His responsibility should lie with hiring a quality HC and then letting the HC run the team.

Ever hear the saying "you can't serve two masters"? That's always been one of the biggest problems in Dallas when Jerry gets involved.

The problem is we don't have a team...only a roster full of skilled players!
