Dallas will sign a guard, preferably right to let Bernie compete with Costa at center and if any injury to either starting guard Bernie could slide in and costa to center. We will draft an offensive tackle in the first three rounds, most likely the top two rounds. This tackle will be expected to start, but will compete and have to beat out Parnell. We will sign a low budget safety, and I wouldn't doubt it if it will be barber..........smart player who knows the system more than anyone, who could help the safeties, corners, and even lbs too. He would be another coach on the field both in games and during practices. This also will allow us to see what happens with Matt Johnson. For all of u hoping satey in the first, get over it. Not going to happen. Varraco is not Eric berry, or earl Thomas. Most likely we will take someone in round 3 or 4 unless there is someone who slid to the round 2 pick. The signings of a guard and safety allow us to go defensive line and offensive line in rounds 1 and 2. Hasn't anyone here noticed the past 3 years or so the cowboys have been doing a decent job of signing guys to allow them to go pretty much bpa.

Makes sense, and yes, there does seem to be a better sense of getting ready for the draft since Garrett became the head coach. Fewer moments for sure. More young talent on this team than in a long time.

Fine by me. I'd much rather have a good tackle prospect than a good guard prospect. I also love the concept of having two young, highly drafted bookends.

Sounds like a good plan. I hope they get the Romo deal done soon, and then move on to where they can address the draft with the BPA as opposed to needs-based. Lee, Carter, and Murray were positions that didn't jump out at you at the time but all were great adds.

Sign Brandon Moore to play RG. Helps both Parnell and whoever the center is.

Sign Ronde Barber to help the safety position.

Round #1 - Jonathan Cooper
Round #2 - Eric Reid (not that he is my favorite, but for months now he has been tied to Dallas and Garrett is going to LSU pro day)
Round #3 - Chris Faulk - a Dallas pick, good talent, coming off an injury

Have to build the OL. Last post-season proved, you can not win without an offense. Protect Romo and run the ball better are keys to next season.

This is a great plan as far as I'm concerned.

I would be excited if we took OL and DL with every pick (unless there is a great value pick in the later rounds)--linemen are the most important players on the field and bad ones nullify good skill players (as we know around here)

Sounds like a viable plan. Wonder how Callahan feels about Leary. If they feel he's ready to contribute.

I believe we will go DT/DE in the 1st round.

OG will be taken in the 2nd.

Start with the trenches.

Vacarro will probably be pick if he falls too 16-18 won't be surprised of we trade the pick with the rams ala last year

This is pretty much what I think will happen, too.

I will rage

i would rather sign a vet tackle than a vet guard. there are a few ready to play tackles in this draft but i don't think there will be by the time we pick in the 2nd. plus if you like parnell why draft a tackle and just let parnell walk. i would sign a vet tackle and start parnell. that gives you insurance if parnell can't get it done and a swing tackle with experience. a rookie struggles enough playing one position let alone two very different positions. too much for a rookie
then i would draft a guard. this draft is deep at guard and you can get a good one even in the second, maybe even into the 3rd
let bernie compete with costa at center an see what happens, if he can't win the center job he is then the g/c backup.

This. Starting-quality guards will be available in the first three rounds. Tackles are more of a risk in this draft unless its the kid from A&M.

Tackle, safety, and WR would be my targets in the NFL FA bargain basement.

I disagree with this assessment. In my opinion, Joeckel, Fisher, Johnson, Fluker, Watson, and Armstead would be starters from day 1, whereas I only feel the same confidence towards Cooper and Warmack with regard to guard prospects.

Not a bad plan, and reasonable too
