Here is why Felix will perpetually struggle with injuries

That's a very good post and point, which brings me to...

***WARNING! THE FOLLOWING IS A RELEVANT, SOON-TO-BE-IGNORED FACT BY THE
'THEY DIDN'T PICK MY PET CAT MENDENHALL! WAAAH! WAAAH!' CONTINGENT***

Brian Westbrook ran a 4.57 40 at the NFL Combine.

***THIS CONCLUDES ANOTHER RELEVANT, SOON-TO-BE-IGNORED FACT BY

.

My pet cat was Cj i had him in all my mocks i thought Mendenhall was the better of the three and didn't think we should of passed on him. But make no mistake no one was pimping CJ harder than me and Bob.

Seems to me there was another guy in these parts that had a problem staying healthy in his first few years in the league.I believe the guy's name was J.Smith, he was the recipient of some bad luck while here.I believe he went on to have some very good years in the league.Point is,thats it to early in Felix's career to label him anything as of yet.Whether you believe him a budding star or an injury prone bust,he is neither as it is just to early to tell. One thing in his favor is that he has had no chronic injury history that I am aware of in his college days, also might add Felix is an average size back.An example of a small quick back would be Dorsett,he was around 175-180 pounds his rookie year.Lets just hold the horses abit and play a wait and see game with Felix.

Felix has jets that no mortal has ever known. If he gets enough carries he will set the all-time NFL marks for average per carry.

But they guy is never going to stay real healthy for real long.

Why? Think about the type of collisions he suffers with other foreign bodies and with the turf when he lands. The guy is just a rocket ship in flight and when he falls or hits something it is simply with greater force than other backs.

He also has less time to gather himself when he crashes into something or hits the deck. He's going to have more awkward landings than most.

We have to be realistic. He's going to be a supremely special back. Unique. One of a kind. But he's not ever going to play 14 or 16 games in a season.
How do you explain that he played his collegiate career pretty much injury-free?

I'm sorry but this post makes little sense as it could be applied to just about any RB

What the hell kind of courses they offering in school these days? I KNEW this would happen once they removed P.E from the curiculum.

Like the enthusiasm, but cool down on the hyperbole. There have been plenty of players with Felix's speed or even faster. As a matter of fact, some of them played for the Cowboys and TWO of them in particular are in the HOF.

:laugh2: Man, you're just not all there, are you? If you ever consider becoming a lawyer, don't. You may find yourself in the position of having to defend yourself in court and you would only lose. BIG time.

This is what you previously stated in a reply to T-RO comments about FELIX JONES, which, by the way, had nothing to do with Chris Johnson:

He wasn't even the fastest dude at the combine.... 4.4 40......

I'll tell you why Felix keeps getting hurt 13 reps.
Your reply was a transparent insult directed at Felix Jones.

Your very same reply to T-RO had zip to do with Chris Johnson!

My reply to you correlates your reiteration of his 40-time with the 40-time of Brian Westbrook, who is both a proven NFL back and an offensive star of the Eagles.

At this point, you had the choice of either:
  • Addressing the fact you presented about Felix Jones' 40-time was a weak response to T-RO or
  • Go off on some strange, Twilight Zone tangent about hyping Chris Johnson before the draft, which, of course, had absolutely nothing to do with neither your original statement about Felix Jones' 40-time nor Chris Johnson's 40-time, and failing miserably.
Would you care to re-read your response? Everyone else has. Sure, you have spoken of Chris Johnson, but you have been completely anti-Felix Jones from the very moment Dallas choose him over...

*Drumroll*

...Rashard Mendenhall.

Would you care to re-post some of your immediate responses about Jones' selection over Mendenhall? How about a few of your posts since April '08 which claimed Mendenhall's effectiveness would supercede Jones'?

Go ahead. The archive feature on this site is OUTstanding. :)

Felix has extremely good vision and takes very exceptional angles which distinquishes him. Though not considered the NFLs' fastest man in the 40 yard dash (4.4) he has a decieving third gear on the field in pads that can't be coached.

However unfortunantly his health issues are real, he seems very fragile to say the least....yet sometimes players can find a way to stay healthy, they just have to get used to the NFL level.

He's a playmaker if he stays healthy but right now you seriously doubt he has the toughness to ever run between the tackles and be a fulltime every down RB.

I don't buy the argument, sorry... He was pretty much injury free in college, if my memory serves me correctly. I just think it's been a string a bad luck in the NFL thus far, I'm hoping he'll back in action after the bye week.

From what I've read, he managed to stay healthy in college, so injuries weren't an issue w/ him. I agree w/ most folks, I think it's just bad/tough luck.

I think it has to do w/ getting dragged down or bumped from behind which can force a bad/awkward step. I'm not talking about horsecollars, just being pulled down legally or again, being bumped and not stepping correctly, forcing his body to do something it normally doesn't do or putting a harder impact than normal on a joint/ligement..
