Here we go again with Milton

Milton is a career backup at best. In this era, he can make good money just being that. I also don’t see anything special in him. Trade? LOL don’t see any team giving up any pick for him.

Unless you think he can eventually be a starter, then no he isn't. I personally don't think he ever amounts to more than a backup. If you can get a 2, you take it without hesitation.
We can value him differently. I know we have search for years for a back up now that we have one people want to trade him. Yes he will go when his contract is up. So trade him just before

I recall Dak BALLING out against the LA Lambs at the LA Colosseum and thought "damn this kid shines during game time" because I heard he sucked in practice.

Same here and now. Kid played in the elite SEC for Tenn. He's the real deal.
He was bad for TENN.

One of Joe’s biggest issues is reading and processing. Vanilla preseason defenses don’t tell us the whole story. Maybe he has improved, but the mental aspect is one he’s struggled with and I don’t trust him for more than a few games against real defenses.

If you can get a good return for him I’m cool with trading him because I think Howell is another “ok for a couple games we’re screwed if he needs to play more” kinda guy.

Although Milton has been better than Howell up to this point, Howell might be the better answer in regular season games. Tough one.

I think your forgetting a very important fact that the Zaney Zoners live by:

Other teams aren't allowed to say No to whatever idiotic trade ideas the Gomers in here come up with.

A 1st for a nothing QB? Sure!

A 3rd for a dlineman we don't want any more because he sucks and we're going to cut him anyway? Sure!

A 5th for the rotting garbage in the dumpster that's waiting to be hauled off? Why not...

August. It's when all things are possible for the Zaney Zoners. August.

Feel a cool breeze this morning though. Just a gentle reminder that colder Temps and colder reality is waiting for us again...just like always.
Great explanation, and I love "Zaney Zoners" lol!

Remember how fans were saying we could get a high draft pick for Diggs, and then ... well, he waws out of the league and might return but ouch ...

Dak (rookie preseason and regular season) > Milton. Milton has looked great in preseason, no question and I hope he develops into a legit starting QB. I'm just saying in regular season games for us, he has been embarrassingly terrible. Accuracy issues and he does not do well under a pass rush, which is the big red flag for me. Let's see him him do it against NFL starters and do it consistently before anointing him as the real deal.

How can you possibly determine that at this time? He's a young player clearly showing improvement.

So having arguably the strongest arm in the NFL isn't special? (perhaps NFL history as he & Josh Allen have the two highest ball velocities ever recorded). Being 6' 5" 235 and able to run over 21 MPH?

It's fine to be skeptical and ask for real game performance but his physical attributes and improved performance on the field is exactly what every team is looking for. Let's see more before we make final proclamations.

Can you name me other players that are hyped up like this that dont play? Ive heard from the Shannon Sharpe podcast, now I just heard it on NFL Network that Milton is too good to not be starting somewhere. Well, reality is he is on a rookie deal and still have next season under that rookie deal..... so he isnt going anywhere. And no, those of you asking about trading him.... not a chance with the way he has played this preseason.

Then, they started talking about Shiyazh Pete and if he will be on the roster. Bahahhah.... holy crap, that is your proof the Cowboys are America's team when you spend time talking about a player who has zero chance of making the team.
And the guy has only started one NFL game and it was against backups the last game of the season for wherever we got him from was it the Titans?

Literally hasn't started a real game with game plans and went through it 4 quarters of football and somehow he should be a starter somewhere did he have that chance and then got traded away just like Sam Darnold and Geno Smith and Daniel Jones yeah eventually maybe this guy can do something but you're gonna have to prove it...

I mean isn't Malik Willis why aren't they talking about him 'cause where is he starting now I know he left I mean that's the next big hype train..

It's insane that anybody is even mentioning it and I've seen it on Facebook their fan bases you know the old Cooper Rush is better than Prescott fans now they're saying it's Milton they're saying that somehow Prescott is losing sleep and he's gonna be looking over his shoulder 'cause lookout if he has a bad game the Cowboys are gonna throw in Milton They're gonna pull Prescott!! lmao

 I don't think this is anything new and yes some of it has to do with the Cowboys but what was that eX- packer was it MagicKowski or there was a dude that was a quarterback that had like a couple of good games in a year and didn't Seattle just back up Brinks back then it was a lot of money this dude was a total trash quarterback just like everybody thought but hey if you have a glimmer of hope at quarterback in this league they will hype you up because they are starving for quarterbacks and yet our fan base is trying to get rid of Prescott and the other half before used to hate Romo I don't know what they're watching..

They hype train drives up his potential trade value. I'm all for it, and it's not like it's entirely baseless. He's shown considerable improvement since arriving in Dallas. This time last year he looked like a green, unrefined ball of talent.

Right now he looks like a viable backup QB option that could develop into something more. He's reading the field and making better decisions. He has control of the pocket and isn't looking to take off if the first read is covered. He's trending up. That's a good thing.
