I think people overrate the value of "No comment." Cuz even if he'd said, "no comment," then the report would've been a bit more speculative than it already is.DallasEast;2204018 said:A good, old fashion 'no comment' would've solved this non-issue, but if a reporter asks a question, whether the topic presented is relevant or not, it must be answered...
Right..?
The correct answer is not 'yes' or 'maybe'.

I look at it as a no-win. He says, "No comment," u still get the same headline only with a bit more gossipy-type report. At least you have actual quotes with which to discuss whether you actually like the comments or not.
I can see this now on tonights SportsCenter with that idiot Jay Harris and Mike Greenberg or whoever. Developing Story .... T.O. is unhappy with the way the Cowboys are using him. Let's go to Ed Werder who is at Cowboys camp for more on the story. ESPN will make the most non story into something really big and it irritates me to no end.BraveHeartFan;2203800 said:This to me is a boring, non-issue, that ESPN would like to try and turn into a huge issue.
Any stories which would've followed the interview could've been gossipy and possibly filled with innuendo, but they would've also been devoid of actual comments which could possibly be misconstrued. Fluff is still, by definition, fluff. Owens' comments were a bit more tangible than nothing at all.WoodysGirl;2204038 said:I think people overrate the value of "No comment." The media doesn't deserve commentary regardless of how much they want to receive it. In fact, they should be made to work for their livelihood. Why gift them with this kind of bs?
Owens will talk, but he doesn't have to.YoMick;2204087 said:Owens is gonna talk.
Owens is gonna say whats on his mind.
Owens wont lie.
We should be used to this by now.
I guess I prefer something more tangible than fluff and innuendo void of actual comment.DallasEast;2204082 said:Any stories which would've followed the interview could've been gossipy and possibly filled with innuendo, but they would've also been devoid of actual comments which could possibly be misconstrued.
