That is the normal reaction you get from a house cat. I don't why it suprises me that a tiger would do it, but I would think there would be an instinctual aggressive or defensive reaction.

If you surprise a human some roll over like that, some attack, some go defensive. Maybe tigers do the same or it is a caged tiger vs wild tiger reaction
