JG is changing is play-calling depending on what the masses want.

I was all for more running plays being called and JJ wanted Felix to get the ball more.

Let's go to the game, Felix is in the game more than he ever has been and we run the ball more today.

If we have an OC that can be swayed by what the masses want, then there is a problem.

We need a guy calling plays that maybe sees what the masses say, but doesn't totally change the way he calls a game.

Today, he went away from what he ALWAYS has been in the past. If you disagree with that, I can post play-by-play of EVERY game that he has called.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Garrett is a finicky play caller who panics and doesn't really seem to have any conviction and/or overriding plan. That's my single biggest gripe with him.

No, that's not to say he's terrible, must be fired today, has no hope, etc. It's simply something he must get better at if he has a long-term future as a play caller.

So the reason we ran the ball against the Commanders was nothing to do with them being #24 against the run and Haynesworth not playing?

Yes, this is extremely troubling.

However, it is not known if the GM, Head Coach or both told him to tone down on the Pass Plays.

I agreed with Joe Buck, Jason Garrett was playing right into the Skins' hands by not throwing as much during some portions of the game.

While you make valid points, it's worth noting that Washington had the number one rated pass defense in the league....although some of those stats are inflated due to competition.

I'm right there with you. And it's very frustrating.

lol. No matter what JG will be criticized. Unless he wins every game 100-0 and the Superbowl, people will always be complaining about every little thing.

It's laughable.

Haynesworth not playing and the defense being the #1 pass defense team in the league as NOTHING to do with it.

How many times have we seen us throwing against a tem that is better against the pass than the run and vice-versa.

He succumbed to the masses as well as JJ and THAT is what is disconcerting.

Romo, Roy, Witten and every other Cowboy get criticized just as much no matter win or loss.

For me, my complaint isn't a hand-wringing, "OH MY GOD!!!" type of thing. It's merely something I think he needs to work on.

And, to add: I do think Garrett has had a number of solid games. I really had no problem with the Philly game, for instance. The past seven quarters have bugged me.

Do you not see the dilemma in this? Either way he's going to get criticized. If he appeases the masses, you're going to play that card. And if he calls the game a certain way, you'll say he should of ran/pass more ...etc

I thought JG called a pretty good game today, we just didnt execute in the passing game

He didnt seem to have any real semblence of a plan other than run the ball to prove everyone wrong, though

What did I just say?

Put it this way....

He needs to look at what he has been doing and adjust the play-calling. He needs to admit that he has been a little too much pass-happy.

But to go overboard is a little ridiculous.

For me, it is beyond obvious that he changed everything for this game.

He could have made is 5% pass and 45% run.....but he went way overboard and succombed to the masses today.

I won't disagree at all. Garrett doesn't go into a game thinking, 'Well, Romo will probably be high on two of every three throws.' His game plan was hinged on the running game tearing Washington up and Romo intermixing some chain-moving throws. The plays seemed to be there, but Romo couldn't get it there.

You're right. If Romo played well today, the play calling would have seemed and felt much different.

Play calling is a difficult thing to assess as an armchair quarterback unless you're just seeing a bunch of delay of games, silly play-call selections, etc. I don't think Garrett really has those issues. I just think he sometimes calls his plays to the extreme one way or the other -- often forgetting about the run, today running non stop.

As you said, a lack of execution marred the play calls. Still, averaging 7 points over the past two games is concerning.

I can see your points, and I think to a degree he did that.

There's no doubt we should have put up more than 7 points and 150 yards passing though. No doubt about it.

He called 27 pass plays 33 run plays, how is that overboard? IF we don't fumble on our opening drive and miss that field goal. You'd be singing a different tune. Turnovers and missed opportunities will always kill us no matter what we do.

Listen, the bottom line is that he came under fire over his play-calling and he changed....if you can't see that, you are blind.
