I don't get your sig. What is the star all about?

Maybe my paranoia at work here, but I could have sworn there was some goofy face attached to it at one point.

Anyway, perhaps it can still apply? I mean, when we root for a player more than we do the team, it makes me want to barf. So in essence, the star should come first, not the horns. Yeah... I think I can go with that.

No, there's never been a goofy face on our star. The only thing I can imagine is that you may have had an animated image like this...

:laugh1:

...that might have been removed. We don't allow any moving sigs.

Why the hell would Buffalo want Roy? lol. This board says some of the most off the wall thing I have seen in awhile. Only Cowboy fans would say this nonsense. Holy crap. TO has very comparable stats to Roy with Edwards/Fitzpatrick/Brohm. Roy has Romo. I can only imagine what he would do with TO's qbs. So true and so ignored alright. Delusional as all hell

Bottom line RW is younger than TO. So the poster was right. Maybe Buffalo would do it.

The Cowboys would not. He was right again.

I am really sorry that truth hurts your feelings, but I really don't care. TO would still be in a Cowboys uniform if he could only shut his festering gob and put his team ahead of his own selfish needs. Good riddance.

I kinda doubt Dallas would trade Sam Hurd for TO at this point.

TO= washed up. The guy shouldnt even be discussed here anymore IMO.

Its not his fault Jerry gave up a #1 and #3 for him, nor is it his fault that he is getting payed what he's getting paid. He has little to no control over that. What he can control is what he says off the field and can do on the field. He is saying all the right things, now its time to play ball.

It kind of is and it kind of isn't. What I mean by that is he labeled himselfas one of the top WRs in the NFL and wanted to be paid like one. Jerry gave him the money and he hasn't delivered. So yes, he is partly responsible.

If he said he wanted to come to the Cowboys and get paid a salary commensurate to his level of production with incentives, he would have gotten a very different sort of deal. What Roy sheeple always ignore is that he has only had one 1000-yard season in 6 years. That is not hard to do - some guy named Furrey did it during the same time period with the Lions.

I suspect Roy is probably only an average #2 in the league. He will need to improve considerably to meet that criteria, IMO (in drops and yards, TDs part is good).

Well, that answers my question. No way the Cowboys can cut him, regardless if there's a cap or not. over 18 million dollars in 3 years on players that are not on the roster is unacceptable. Especially when one of them is just 28 years old.

Agree... Unfortunately, we have to sit and hope that he somehow lives up to our expectations of what we thought we were getting when he was signed.

Couldn't agree with you more. Fans have had similar anti-player rants against Bradie James, Marcus Spears, Mike Jenkins, and Anthony Spencer in the last 2 years. Every one of those now look foolish.

Premature evaluation is a terrible, but widespread, problem...

Roy has been here for 24 or 25 games now and he did not arrive here as a rookie but as a guy who had previously been in the Pro Bowl and was in his fifth year in the league.

in 2006 in Roy's big year he lead the Lions in yardage but Mike Furrey had more catches and nearly as many touchdowns.

in 2007, Roy was again beat for team lead in catches and yards by Shaun McDonald.

I guess what I'm getting at is the Roy Williams who we think of as a great young WR who had already been to the Pro Bowl may have really been a decent WR who put up some good numbers in Martz's offense but not really much better than guys who are scrubs. In other words, the productioni for the most part never really matched the potential. We keep waiting for Roy to break out of it and resume his 2006 form but maybe that was an aberration and he is really just a tool's guy who had one big season in a gimmick offense.

The only thing I hope is that we don't keep the experiment going on for too long here. If he is not showing marked improvements in routes and hands by early next season, we can't keep trotting him onto the field. His performance this year has only been satisfactory in the TD compartment.

I'm proud to say I've never ranted against any of those players. However, I did say Hurd would be better than Austin. Boy was I wrong.

As long as Williams puts the visor back on I'll be happy. The guy looks much better with that thing on imo. Heck, he wore it at Texas and it didn't bother him there. Put the visor back on Roy it looks better.

:starspin

Who cares about the visor. Just get open and catch the ball.

no one will take him with that albatross of a contract and rapidly declining production. He probably is waived in the offseason after being asked to restructure.

Do you know how bizarre that sounds. I'll give you 2 to 1 odds and bet you a grand that doesn't happen.

I'm with you. I don't get the Cowboys fans that put Roy ahead of the team. Roy has had 24 games to figure it all out in Dallas, and he still doesn't get it. Wake up. He's just not going to get it this year. He's out of time.

This is not the time to be cute and stick with something that hasn't been working since he arrived. It's too late for that this season, and if it wasn't for his contract and the deal it took to get him, he'd already be on the bench. Keeping this guy out there for the far majority of the snaps this season is only going to hurt the Cowboys. Maybe some people are ok with that as long as it's a Longhorn hurting Dallas. I don't know, but I know keeping him out there as much as he is out there is idiotic at this point.

Personally, I'd prefer to see the team excel, because I'm not really into the whole lose to Philly at the end of the season and then go on to add another year to streak of no playoff wins. I believe having less of Roy on the field this season is a good way to take these last few games seriously, instead of appeasing anyones ego, or trying to be kind to someones feelings. That crap needs to wait until next season at this point.

That's fair criticism even if I don't agree with all of it. While I agree he's not the number 1 WR he's got to be in the #2 or 3 mix on this team. He deserves less snaps but not a lot less IMO. He needs to catch the ball away from his body.

I'm not a big fan of internet bets. How about we have a gentleman's bet of sorts and leave it at that. Barber isn't a bad guy or a bad player but he is vastly overplayed and overpaid. Garrett really needs to come to his senses and go with the duo of Choice and Felix.
