Here's why we own Philly

Tony Romo has covered all his bases against this Philly D.

Look at the first game. The Eagles blitzed Romo every down. They got burned by hot routes and screens. Romo knows how to play against that kind of Eagles defense

Look at the 2nd game. They probably took another approach by sending 7 guys in coverage and see if Romo could recognize coverages. Well, he ate them up that way too.

Pick your poisen. Want to blitz Romo? Well he'll just hot route to Witten and slowly pick apart the D.

Want to play zone or man coverage? He'll just disect the defense with his moving around the pocket.

Seeya Philly.

Jimmy J pointed this out today on Fox. Romo and Garrett play calling had Eagles totally guessing an unable to adjust ,as opposed to early in the year when opponents were calling out the Cowboy plays before they were run. I am not saying they own anybody till the game is over on Saturday though.

Romo knowing this defense very well is a huge positive! :laugh2:

We are the more talented team. We are the better team when both teams play up to their maximum talent level. We just don't do it on a consistent basis but we have been past 3 weeks.

Jim Johnson passing has hit Philly hard... they aren't adjusting like they used to on defense...

I wish he was still around because he was a class guy, but it is obvious they miss him...

He was a great game planner...

Its simple. Romo is Godlike.

And that is why Philly stands no chance.

As long as we don't turn the ball over 3+ times, we should win.

I agree in general with your take on Jim Johnson, but IMO, that defense has lost some talent at the LB position, and some leadership (Brian Dawkins).

They are very weak in the middle, and their corners take aggressive gambles.

I cannot believe how much Romo has elevated his game from last year. The days of turnover Tony are no more. If he keeps trying to get better every week, with his work ethic, the man is gonna be scary good.

Also, we are a more balanced team. As long as Reid is the coach in Philly they will never commit long term to the running game. McCoy is a nice slasher, Westbrook looks done, and weaver is a FB. Reid will always revert to the passing game and it will kill him everytime.

Actually I thought his point was kind of the opposite. That essentially the Cowboys kept throwing shotgun looks to let the Eagles know that a passing play was coming so that the Eagles had to set up their defense against the pass. Then Romo was able to read the defense before the snap and know where the defenders were going to be and where he would want to attack before the play happened. I thought it was an interesting premise.

I love how super wide our 4 or 5 receiver sets are. we are really spreading the field WAY out

Someone mentioned how Garrett and Romo spread out the offense and forced the Eagles to show their coverage allowing Romo to know if it was a certain coverage or ?

If anyone can expand on that it would be appreciated. Sounded good and made sense.

if we win the turn over battle and dont commit consistent drive killing penalties will win again by double digits

You need to give our defense a lot of credit too. They are getting better down the stretch.

IMO, Romo and Garrett has changed some things that's impressed me personally, and this doesn't mean that they're all of a sudden super bowl bound, although I hope they are.

But outside of the obvious, not turning the ball over, being patient, running the ball.

Garrett is getting his players out of the huddle a lot sooner, and Romo is up at the line forcing the defense to show it's hand. Well you can't do that if you are constantly up against the play clock. I screamed about this a lot last year, and that's changed. Also, it looks like Romo is willing to eat it and take a sack, and hold on to it when he takes it.

The biggest thing from Romo and Garrett, is Romo seems prepared and as if he knows what's going on with the opponents defense, last year he didn't look prepared in certain games. Neither did Garrett last year, it just didn't seem like he knew how to get the ball to the play makers, and he is doing that a lot better this year. Just my observation, carry on.

It's true to an extent, like just about everything in the NFL. You can spread 'em out and go shotgun to see their defense. However, if the defense gets disguised perfectly, your QB is back there a sitting duck. See Denver, see Green Bay.

Of course if you spread the offense with the right personnel groups that still offer good protection while in shotgun, and you have a running back then it gets interesting.

The headache of headaches for our offense right now is that we've pulled Deon Anderson in some situations and gone with John Phillips as the lead blocker. The defense has no idea if Phillips is a lead blocker or a pass threat.

I wouldn't want to be Philly with their beat to hell linebacking corps trying to rein us in on Saturday. No sir.

It is amazing the difference a great coach can make! Difficult to replace that loss.
