Herm has two playoff wins.

You know how many more that is than Wade Phillips?

Two
Regardless, Herm has the striking ability of turning playoff caliber teams into ****.

You'd think at some point a light bulb would pop on and they would ask themselves why outside of Dallas Cowboy fandom their opinion is in the very very small minority.

But no, they are brilliant, and Herm Edwards sucks.

But I doubt it's because he doesn't have guys like Pacman on his roster.

Well, we only need PacMan for a couple of years as long as we draft a couple good secondary players this year and develop them.

Heck, it's not like we're giving PacMan a huge guarantee. If he screws up, he's gone.

Excellent point.

Actually it's a horrible point, and is just another lazy generalization that some people like to toss out there when they feel like sitting atop their high horse of anti-homerism.

If Herm had gone that way, there probably would have been a wide range of opinions on it - just like every issue on message boards since the beginning of time.

I like Herm, he's definitely not a horrible coach. He genuinely cares about his players and his team. He took over a team that fell apart due to several key pieces that were old and/or over worked. You try making the playoffs with Brodie Croyle, more than half your all-pro offense line missing, and your star RB hurt. At least they finally got him a freaking receiver to work with.

Come on. You know that if the Skins were after Pacman instead of us we would be knee-deep in "lil Danny boy does it again" threads.

Yahoo! Sports' Jason Cole penned this piece late last week that casts a skeptical eye towards the Cowboys' pursuit of Pacman Jones.

"I wouldn't have him on my team," Kansas City coach Herm Edwards told Cole. "I just wouldn't. I won't get into the reasons why."

And then, there was this: "Most guys who are trouble like that, you can get them to pay attention and step right for a year or two, maybe," said a team executive who wished to remain nameless. "But after that, they just go back to what they really are."

An interesting story, which shows that there are plenty of people in the league who don't really believe that the light's turned on, or necessarily will ever turn on, for Pacman.

Uh, Herman. That's what Jerry Jones wants to do.

PacMan is a temporary solution at best. The Cowboys will still draft corner this year. PacMan will be the nickle back (assuming he's reinstated) and return kicks. But Jerry's not going to put all his eggs in PacMan's basket.

If we reach the Super Bowl and win it and PacMan cuts up, he's gone.

If we don't reach the Super Bowl and PacMan cuts up, he's gone.

But if he can help this team for one or two years and his contract reflects that, Jerry's going to get him to sign on the dotted line.

Wait. You've got it backwards. Danny Boy overpays for a lack of talent. This is just the opposite. We're under-paying for an undeniable talent. So criticizing Snyder for his typical antics wouldn't make sense here.

Touche', Theo. Little Danny signs players just for the sake of signing them. Jerry thinks things through, whether we agree with his final decisions or not.

I would agree with Herm if Pacman weren't such a PacBoy...let's face it, all this trouble happened when he was 22-23 with millions of dollars.

If there's any real hope for him, it's not in Dallas wonderful player programs and assistance...they don't work miracles. If there's any real hope for PacBoy, it's that he is now 24 with plenty of time to grow up. If he can keep his nose clean for two years, as suggested, he's then 26 or 27. People do grow up, and he may do so as well.

I say give it a shot, but I wouldn't meet Tennessee's demands. Jerry is taking a big risk with Pacman, and he should hold out for the deal he's happy with; not to mention the fact that the more you give Tennessee for the player, the more you probably lose at the negotiating table with his agent.

We can all talk all we want about what Pacman would bring to the Cowboys, but it's still a huge risk, and we'd be foolish to give in to Tennessee's demands...it's not about what he'll be worth to us if reinstated, playing at a high level, and being a new man with character and control. It's about what it's worth to rid a team of someone who's been arrested numerous times, has been suspended for a year, could continue on suspension, and is only 1 little mistake from being banned from football for life.

Bring him into the bunkhouse, but don't be foolish about it.

Anyone want to lay odds on anybody caring what Herm Edwards thinks after he's fired for running the Chiefs' franchise right into the ground?

This isn't an indictment of Edwards' opinion, I can see where he's coming from and I don't blame him.

But the man is a downright awful head coach and the fact that he still has a job is amazing, much less being so opinionated.

12 months from now, Edwards won't have a team for Pacman to be on!

How exactly did he run the Chiefs into the ground? You make it sound like he inherited the Patriots or something.

Herm Edwards might even be right about Pac Man, but my opinion is that he is a poor excuse for a coach. I think he is basically a tool. JMHO.

Well, he took a 10-6 team from Vermeil and has managed to transform it into a 4-12 team in two years.

Which way do you see the arrow pointing?
