I was hoping Hawaii would win. I can't stand UGA and they have one of the most favorable schedules in the country each season considering they NEVER go outside of 6 hours from Athens to play a game.

On the flip side you have Hawaii who probably doesn't have 1/10th the funding and resources that UGA may have. A win here would've made a huge difference in the program and I'd rather seem more teams become competitive in college than the usual suspect winning every year and going to the same bowl games.

That's a huge reason why I like the NFL. This year the Bucs and Commanders both made the playoffs despite 9-23 records (combined) the season before.

It happens in college too. Look at the years teams like Kansas, Missouri, and So. Florida had.

Nice to know that there are some who can see beyond the "haha Hawaii sucks" banter. Hopefully some of that BCS money we'll get can alleviate some of our funding woes.

Hawaii got in because of Boise St. winning last year, and the amount of top teams who racked up too many losses this year.

The game was never even close. Brennan was gettin hit by a 3 or 4 man rush most of the night, and he was getting pressured with 8 guys dropping into coverage.

Just watch the LOS. Georgia was moving the Hawaii DL around at will.

OU>>>>Georgia
Oklahoma and Ohio State both need to take a long break from national championship games. I'm tired of watching these teams get trounced in them.

Oklahoma might look good during the regular season, but their recent performance in bowl games is embarrasing. If they somehow find a way to lose to West Virginia, we should ban them from bowl games.

LOL @ Georgia pulling a New England and going for it on 4th down with the game out of reach.

Georgia couldnt even make it to the SEC Championship and OU dominated "#1" Mizzou in the Big XII Championship. I dont wanna hear that b.s. about the SEC being the best. OU is the best team in football right now and coming from a Longhorn fan, that's hard to say.
If Missouri and Kansas weren't in the same division, Oklahoma wouldn't have had a chance to play for the Big 12 championship.

Dawg, quit whining about Hawaii! Hawaii is Irrelevant! They shouldn't have not even been playing in a BCS Bowl! They're a Joke!

And that matters because?
If playing in a tough conference is a sin, then I guess they are guilty.

USC played Idaho @ Home and Nebraska on the road.

lol that the georgia QB and ! grew up within 10 minutes, course I am a touch older I would imagine. I didn't even realize that until the announcers brought it up.

So, you "grew up" in what, N. Plano?

There are gonna be a LOT of puzzled looks tonight when OU gets run over by 2 TD's tonight.

OU - 21

I think OU would've been in the title game if their QB hadn't gotten knocked out of the game vs. Tech. Their backup couldn't play a lick.

Someday we'll have a tournament and all this will be decided on the field... Thank Gawd.

No, sorry, but if you're a team w/ aspirations on playing in the BCS championship, your D doesn't get run by Tx Tech and their glorified high school offense.

It probably could work in the SEC if the Warriors had the talent. They have a budget of a measly $50k for recruiting, one of the smallest in D-IA. It's not like these spread option offenses in college are "smash mouth" football.

YAKUZA

Except the spread is not the same as the run n shoot. A lot of people assume it's the same since they include a lot of receiver sets. The spread still includes TE's and even two TE sets. Also the spread involves more running. The run n shoot is a misnomer, it should be called shoot and shoot since there is practically no running involved.

On another note, the people calling the game yesterday were annoying. They were so blatantly trying to defend June Jones and Hawaii. They had the nerve to try and say that June Jones was vindicated for bringing back the run n shoot when it was villified in the past. How was he vindicated? He got his a## handed to him on a national scale and his starting QB couldn't throw 1 TD pass. If anything, it just confirmed the run n shoot is a dead system; there is a reason the NFL abandoned it in the 90's.

And USC deserves a shot because it lost to Stanford which is a far worse team than Texas Tech.

Last I checked, USC played yesterday, and it wasn't for a MNC. Your point is?

The point is you can make the same argument for all these teams. There is no clear winner in any of this and to me, it's a waste of time to argue who is the national champion.

I'm suprised Colt Brennan has so many supporters still. I always thought he was overrated. First of all, he is undersized and lacks a strong arm. Even with the pressure yesterday, you could clearly see he lacks the arm to thread the needle. I think he is so ridiculously hyped. I'm going to laugh at the NFL team that drafts him.
