I believe that blame rests in two places.

1. Talent evaluation - it's apparent that many of our high draft choices (Spears, Burnett, Williams) just aren't what they were hoped to be. The jury is out on Carpenter. Canty was a longshot as shouldn't have been expected to do a lot. Free agent signings haven't made the impact that they should have.

2. Scheme - You cannot expect a 4-3 coach to suddenly become a 3-4 master in 2 seasons. It's unreasonable. What I noticed late in the season is that the only pressure the Cowboys were able to put on the pocket was when Zimmer was allowed to draftup 4-3 schemes to mix in with the base defense. Zimmer knows what he is doing in the 4-3 and given the appropriate talent up front I have no doubt that he is a fine coach.

I'm not bashing, I'm just curious. After reading several of your threads I'm confused to as who who blaim for our collapse. Is it the players, the coaches or both?

You don't seem to take a side. Do you think things are fine as it and just need a little tweeking?

Once again, just curious. You seem to be one of the few who are real layed back about the situation.

So in other words we have some talent issues and some coaching issues..

Get those 2 things squared away and we should be good to go.

I'm in! ;)

It's both, clearly. During the season, when we'd get in trouble, we'd go in the stupid cover 2 shell that we suck at. In addition, it's not like our pathetic front three did anything either. What's great about me is (a) I'm incredibly humble, and (b) I don't point my finger at ONE aspect that's failing, and think "If we can fix that, all ills will be cured!" and then thump my chest about that in thread after thread. I think our DEs need improved. I think our scheming for our ILBs in the base is dreadful. I think an alien inhabited Bradie James all year. Nothing is ever black and white, and it's NEVER one side or the other.

That's refreshing.

I tend to lead more towards the coaching and scheme. I have seen less talented teams coached to bigger things and then on the flip side what we have hear in Dallas but no doubt, serious talnet upgrade is needed in a few key positions.

yea i mean its not the Ravens Offense fault that they did absolutely nothing on O which caused the Ravens D to be on the field a long time which ended up wearin them down

Yeah, seriously. You can't really ask teh D to do anything else. Minus that lucky 50 yarder Vinateri hits, they really only let up 12 points to Manning. If you can't score more than 15 points against Indy, you have a bad offense.

Last week

Indy 23
KC 8

Larry Johnson went 13 for 32.

KC didn't get a first down until 3 minutes left in the 3rd quarter.
