Hey, Manning played well

Adam, I'm surprised by your comment. the Giants gameplan against us was short passes and runs/screens/out-of-the-backfield to the right side all day. It kept our offense off of the field and our defense on the field. They won TOP and made our defense look porous everywhere but the red-zone.

Manning was not superman but he was definitely good today. We were fortunate to win this one. I hope we don't have to see them again in the playoffs.

he did play OK... i thought our coverage was deplorable but he played safe throwing low and such not forcing things except the ball Aaron shoudl have INTd in the endzone.

How about the fact that he had 2 dropped INTs and touchdown passes that Quincy Carter could have made.

The guy was a champion of dump offs and screen plays today, but very rarely did he try anything down the field. And this is with allll day to throw.

does it matter? its not like he was launching 50 yd bombs every play in all the other games he sucked in

the fact is he picked us apart today...its disturbing because he hasnt been doing it to any other teams lately

I don't care if you voice your opinion. But come on man, EVERYTHING you have posted since the game has been negative against our defense. we get it..ok? You're unhappy with the defense. Great. Now do you really have to infect every single thread with your opinion, even if the thread has nothing to do with it?

Great, so why don't you start your own thread and keep all your hate in that one?

Manning just dinked and dunked all day. His only completions longer than 19 yards were dumpoffs to running backs who managed to run for some yards, and the Giants' starting wide receivers didn't have a single catch longer than 11 yards.

I guess that TD pass to Shockey looked longer because he had scrambled out.

I disagree with your whole premise that throwing short is a negative.

Manning played a very good game. Efficiency is always the priority. Why throw the ball 20+ yards downfield when you can throw it 3 yards and gain 20? Manning took what the defense gave him. That's all you can ask of a QB.

A side question to him throwing deep, on the pass to Tyree did you think that Manning crossed the LOS? After watching it twice, it sure appeared that way to me.

Did he play well or was our lack of a pass rush allowing him to do more than expected?

Against the Cowboys, the Giants put a governor on their passing plays, trying to get Manning into a mistake-free rhythm with a mix heavy on short passes and screens, often with the quarterback rolling out to avoid the pass rush.

Manning was completing 67 percent of his passes thrown 10 yards or less downfield, for eight TDs and only three interceptions.

It's throwing downfield where he has struggled this season -- 40 percent completions and 12 interceptions.

So no, it's not surprising that he had success dinking and dunking today. He has done that just fine all season.
