With all this "jumping off the cliff" posts (including myself) today, can you imagine the day after each of our SuperBowl loses to the stupid Steelers, if we had the Internet and forums back then?

Good god the Moderators would not have been able to keep pace!!!!!!

Or when Tom Landry was fired, when Jimmy Johnson was fired (True we have usenet back then but it wasn't nearly as popular as internet boards are today)

At least they were in the big game. The playoffs are 3 seasons past(all because of Quincy). Playoff success is even further back. Losing in the Superbowl was tough, but it at least showed that it was a successful team. This team has yet to show that type of success. I think if they do, they may find that they like it.

I know i would have been crying about that bogus pass interference penalty on Benny Barns. Or there would be tons of Jackie Smith should be hung in the center of Dallas threads.

Cut Randy White for fumbling a kick off return. Or fire the coaches for having him in there with a cast on his arm. I bet those would be long threads.

Another would be that Hollywood has to go. We can't have a cokehead on the team. And of course we would instantly know that he was high during the game because these days we know just about everything instantly.

i know it wasn't the Steelers, but can you imagine the Staubach/Morton threads? Or Duane Thomas Must Go threads?

Ya know, not having the internet back then wasn't such a bad thing after all...

There's a big difference between a top team losing a SB...no one lost it back then, but when your team is an annual loser that can't win games it is supposed to win, and when you see the playoffs slowly slipping away yet once again, I think it's time for someone to get upset....we're just not the right guys....teams can go on for years and actually start accepting losing and poor performances, always saying "we're getting better...don't panic...it will be okay."

Don't believe it...it's time for urgency.

I just know one thing.....after anyone of the above mentioned I would have been banned within the first minute after I logging on. The Ice Bowl loss was a killer as well......broke a TV on that one.

Although I will have to admit, after the loss yeterday, I did need some cooling off time.:bang2:

I would have loved it. Back then all you could do was sit and stew to yourself and maybe a few friends.

This place is therapeutic to me!:D

The loss yesterday was the worst feeling I've had since Leon Lett's play on Thanksgiving 1993. You think you've won the game and then out of nowhere you lost it!

Worse yet, the army of fans with endless threads about how Coach Landry screwed up the team by letting a player like Thomas go. The never ending string of posts on how Coach Landry had lost touch and was too much the disciplinarian. Can't work with modern players, will never win another championship, game has passed him by..................

Yeah, sorry I missed all that.

;)

Longley should be the starter.

I don't want Too Tall back on the team. He quit on the Cowboys to go box. Screw him.

I will be dead honest with you. I don't think it was near as bad back then to lose. I flat out do not remember Cowboys fans turning on their own players the way fans do now. Yes, we criticized when they did bad, but I don't think it ever got personal. I couldn't stand Steve Pelleur, no one ever responded to me there the way Q, Hutch, Vinny & Bledsoe fans have. You could actually talk calmly and rationally about what you wanted from your team.

Well, I think the QB position in Dallas has always kinda been that way. Dandy Don, Morton, Roger, White, Pelleur, Hogenboom, all of em. Seemed like it was always drama for those guys. For the rest of the team, I kinda agree. I honestly think it's because you drafted guys in those days and they made less money. They didn't show up on another team every 2 years. The press didn't villanize them. Lots of things never got reported so they stayed heros longer. Today, the press reports and creates news to sell product, many times at the expense of the players, franchise and fans. Just the way it is now. Can't say I'm not sorry to see those kinds of changes take place. Like it much better then as opposed to now. JMO.

This stuff is eaaaaaasy compared to the losses back then...

The first championship game vs Green Bay...we spotted them a 14 point lead...and had a first and goal with in the five yard line...down one TD and we didn't score.

The Ice Bowl. That last drive by the Packers and Chuck Mercein..was a KILLER.

Then the two losses to a clearly inferior Cleveland team...games in which we weren't even competitive...

Then we made it to the big dance and lost in a FLUKE to the Colts...

That was FIVE consecutive years.

This stuff is eaaaaaasy.
