You do understand that there are 8 players left from that first 8-8 team, right? Romo, Dez, Witten, Scandrick, Lee, Free, Bailey, and Church.

You know, the GOOD players.

Since then, they've built an A+ offensive line, drafted Ezekiel Elliott, added Beasley, Williams, Morris, Crawford, Thornton, Lawrence, Hitchens, B Jones, Claiborne, Mayowa, and a host of other draft picks.

At the end of the day, many teams are talented..how is our coaching staff going to outsmart and out scheme other teams? That's what wins in this league and that's an area where our team is lacking

Not sure. We have a HC that let the Packers come back from being down 24 points (largest comeback victory in Packers history) because he refused to run the ball in the 2nd half, you know...the reason we were destroying them. And in typical Cowboys fashion we make a backup (Flynn) look like an all-pro.

He made an adjustment. He adjusted to what didn't work.

That's just semantics. There is really no difference between "doubting how good this team will be" and having questions about this team.

"Doubting" to me suggest that your confidence points in the other direction...that the Cowboys are going to suck. Having questions is what you expect of any fan, because the only thing that can truly answer the question is the games being played. I have questions about this defense, but I don't doubt their ability to be good enough to win most games.

"doubting how good this team will be" could simply be thinking that this team is more likely a 10-6 team than a 12-4 team.

dallas has played two really bad teams in the preseason I think I will wait until the regular season games are played to see how they really do I have tempered expectations and until they prove different that's where I am at.

Half those players you listed suck. And we still have the same lame coach.

We went 12-4 in 2014 with less talent on defense than we have now.

This is a critical season to see if we continue to build upon the upward trend we had in 2014.

We're either going to have made the playoffs 2 of the last 3 years or missed 6 in the last 7 years.

Huge difference in where we believe the direction we're headed.

If Romo stays healthy and this offense produces but our defense still stifles us struggling to stay around.500 missing the playoffs in the finale like we have in 2008, 2011, 2012 and 2013 I'll be curious to see where everyone thinks we are with all of this talent we've added in recent drafts.

Jday, always some good talk about one of your threads...enjoyed it.

I think the defense will be intensely competitive. I wish the front four would be more dominant and consistently get penetration, but the entire time that they will be on the carpet, they will be balling. I like that, and some opponents will be black and blue after playing the Cowboys...this year, the linebackers will come up with some game changers and turn overs.
